To be fair there's a few factors to take into consideration here:
They flew out to Orlando,
Meaning that's not where they live,
They had probably already scheduled tickets to go back home,
Which means they were going to end up on the same flight anyway.
Might as well try and make it work that long.

Also when you mentioned that they went home together,
Suddenly it made a lot more sense to me;
They share the living space together.
Sometimes when people are in a rough situation where there's a lot more at play than just their personal feelings,
They got to take time to make a plan,
And especially when there's that much pressure,
The crowd surrounding her,
Her own family etc,
She probably just wanted to wait for that to die down a bit before she got out of the situation.
Maybe she told her family in private at a later point, and they were able to help her move.

I was in a pretty nasty toxic relationship myself for a while.
Part of why I stayed with the dude and part of why I went back to him at one point was because of logistics like that.
I had moved to a whole other state to move in with him,
my dad was in the process of dying of cancer so it's not like I could just move back in with him.
Also I'm legally blind and I can't drive,
So at the time that I moved back in with my ex it was so that I could be back in walking distance of my job,
Because the shelter that I was staying at in between, was way too far away for that to work.
He also had a habit of making me think he had more resources than he actually did,
And would sometimes hold this over my head to make me think that he could actually help me out with things that I needed,
Like getting set up with insurance and getting my eyes looked at.
It wasn't until after moving back in with him that I realized he didn't really have any resources to offer,
Nothing more than what other people had already suggested to me, that didn't work or apply to my situation.

Also I had been friends with the dude for years before even moving in with him,
So there were some feelings of nostalgia mixed in with it,
But I did eventually realize on my own, that's all it was.
It took time and a few cases of getting back in touch with him,
Trying to be his friend, and realizing that he was just too toxic for that to work,
For me to finally feel comfortable breaking things off completely and not looking back.
