This was so helpful Dr. Mindy! I have followed you since 2020, but somehow missed this video. My body has muscle memory of fasting, but I fell off during menopause and series of family losses. I am back in the game!! I feel like this time is the strongest I have ever been and learning from you, Dr. Berg, Dr. Eckberg and newly found Dr. Jamnadas have helped me develop a winning strategy. I do appreciate you explaining the different phases and, honestly, I think that was one of the missing pieces that discouraged me in the past. I went up 28pts yesterday after having my dinner (lentils, sausage, lotsa green veggies, strawberries n cream (no added sugars) I know you can’t say exactly but my KetoMojo reader wasn’t too happy with the 115mg/dL reading so Im trying to understand what is a good bump - thanks!

Great information! Just started tracking ketones. I've fasted on and off for about 18 months now and my results have varied. I'm ready to really try to figure out what my body is telling me. Wondering what it means if my ketones go lower between wake-up reading and right before my first meal? I was at .8 when I woke up, and now I'm at .4. I drank some warm water with ACV and lemon and had a cup of coffee with a bit of heavy cream.

ОтветитьI've made an experiment. Last night, just before I went to bed, I measured both glucose and ketones. Glucose was 5.2 mmol/l and ketones 1.6 mmol/l. This morning I measured both markers again approximately 2 hours after awakening. Glucose was 6.4 mmol/l and ketones 0.2 mmol/l. I ate or drank nothing in between, except about 0.5 l of water.

ОтветитьCan a sugar dump happen at anytime? I woke up at 4.1 mmol and after exercise and coffee with tsp of butter sugar went up to 5.1 (butter was only change) and ketones were good -still is ketosis despite blood sugar rise. Wondered if it was the butter or if it was a sugar dump?

Ответить372 days carnivore. Carbs 5grams once in a while 12grams. Not diabetic 0r insulin resistance . MOJO shows my ketones dropping fro.2.2 to 0.8. Blood sugar never below 103. What the heck is going 9n?

ОтветитьFasting varying fasting eating ketobiotic for 5 weeks now using ACV before eating and my cgm shows high Glucose Levels ketones low and glucose rises and rises and rises. I have Done longer fasts trough 52 Hours and couples of 48hours as well than mostly 19-24 hours and now 12-15 hours. I sleep a Lot. Lots of meditation. I walk a lot. What am I doing wrong? I am desperate. I started detoxing my heavy metals and blood glucose was today at 178! I am Not a diabetic. Have I caused any insulin Resistance through all that fasting? Please HELP!

Hi mindy, hoping you can clarify info in video, you mention reading #2 is "right before first meal" but the example you give for pattern 1 is a reading after a person eats? Could you clarify please! Is there three readings 1. Waking 2. Right before first meal then 3. 30 minutes? or some amount of time after first meal. Sorry im confused maybe ive missed something but between which reading should blood sugar ideally go down, keytones go up? Many thanks

ОтветитьThis morning: 99 BS & Ketones 0.7 and checked 2 hours later before I ate: 116 BS and Keytones .9 (pattern #3 and pattern #4). I have insuline resistence so this is a very disciplined/dedicated practice. I eat from 10 am - 3 am and do Carnivore - I do a sardine fast once a week, and a bone broth once a week. I did carnivore for 20 months lost 30 pounds the first 5 months (1/2 of what I needed) but zero loss for the next 15 months, I went back to Keto and gained my 30 pounds back in 5 months. I started Carnivore again May 1st and trying to get fat adapted. I am a holistic healer the last 40 years and have dedicated every week for 10 to 12 years on each of my body and since 2018 I have been working on my last body (physical body). This has just been my lifetime I have had to heal every body 100% or die (as a shaman and exorcist, a very stressful fated calling).
ОтветитьMy GKI is definitely lower than 8. Since doing keto, I’m often around 2.0-3.0. I feel my best when those are my numbers. I do not, and will not use a doctor during this lifestyle changed. I think it’s important to listen to our own body and do what is necessary to feel good. I work out fasted, too. It feels good to do that. I’m 45, have had 8 children and am down 15 pounds in 2 months. Feeling good! For 40 pounds to go.

ОтветитьI thought that ketoacidosis was something that was only an issue with diabetics. My ketones are usually around 8 but often get over 10. Keto has gotten me out of hypertension.
