Tackle was made ref didn't say to release. Tackler wasn't on the floor so legally allowed to hold on untill ref says realease tackle made thus creating opportunity for marx to steal the ball so perfectly legal turnover. No issues. If tackle realease was called then it would have been penalty to NZ. Besides that there's like 6 NZ players not even close to cleaning the man of the ball.

The real fact is that Mo'unga got into poor position and wasn't supported, and the Boks pilfered the ball. Just desserts, whatever minor points of law you think you're finding.

You're forgetting one thing, the refs don't get to watch the game in slow motion, rugby is so technical at the breakdown and who is the sinner and sinned against is often hard to decipher, particularly by a ref who sees it at full speed with his vision often obscured by players. dead easy to be critical after the event using different camera angles, give the ref some slack guys.

Getting your nickers in a twist about the odd wayward refereeing decision is a no-win effort. Luke Pierce is a good referee, as are most, but things get missed, questionable decisions get made, but for the most part, they work out even in the end. Suggesting that referees are partial simply lumps you in with the cup-half-empty internet trolling community.

This is clearly how the game should be reffed - have someone (preferably a non-neutral) sitting at home forensically analysing every frame from every camera to see if there is an slight reason to suggest that their team may have been disadvantaged by a marginal infringement by the other side. Of course, to do this in real time we’ll need to stop at every interruption to give you, the ref, time to go through the footage. That way, at last we’ll have consistency! And just imagine the takings at the bar!
