Surely the owner saw the moss and weed build up? How was it left so long to get to this state without treatment from such an experienced hobbyist?

Wowzer ...it's amazing no fish were lost with the pond have deteriorated so much .... but thanks the heavens Paul's Koi survived thanks to the help of two great people (i've met Andy before but not Simon). The hobby is unrelenting and having an optimised system is the only way to half standing a chance of adverting problems which everyone no matter how good a system. I've hung up my koi boots a few years ago and would only go back if I had the time and money to have a quality setup. All the best to everyone in the community and thanks for sharing.

Great job , guys . How did you get around the problem with the water supply ? Did you have to use extra filtration on it ? ❤

Was this a water supply issue or just a slow failure of of maintenance and an old filter system

People came together to help the man, worked hard, put it back in working order, disaster averted. I have a question. How was this pond allowed to get to that state, given that the owner had invested so much into the fish? Leaving the issue of water supply aside, the video clearly showed that mulm had been allowed to accumulate for a number of years, and the moss growth had gone unchecked for as much time as well. The pond clearly had not been cleaned out for some time. Most of my clients who are koi keepers say that this should never be allowed to happen. With what they have invested in their hobby, they would make sure that they kept the pond, the filters, and other ancillaries in tip-top condition. There's something else at play here, and that is the gentleman failed to notice the cumulative effects of either insufficient maintenance or a lack thereof. With koi of that quality, the need for regular maintenance of their environment is paramount for their health and survival.

I'm not taking anything away from the guys who stepped in and helped resolve the problems, they did a good job, but that the problems could have been easily avoided, and I feel the owner took his eye off the ball. Maybe he had distractions, health issues, I don't know. But he should have called in pond professionals long before he couldn't see his fish.

Can the music. Do not drown out your narrator with noise of any sort. Save your music for pauses in the narrative. Even quiet music is annoying.
