Thanks for your research into this. I tried it with a passive Fishman and it work great. One slight modification is that I got an 3/8" wood dowel and replaced the aluminum tube. NIce warm difference.

Thanks for the info, Bob. I'll have to try this because right now, even run through my Fishman Aura Spectrum, the sound is pretty harsh.

Hi, thanks for this information. Did the $20 pickup you used include the end pin preamp? The co-ax piezos I'm seeing online all seem to be around $20 for the pickup alone or $80 and up for the pickup with preamp.  Also, how does the pickup sound through the Fishman Aura? I have a Spectrum Aura DI I use for steel string. Been thinking of working some nylon string into the act. Thanks again. :)

Yes, there is a preamp, but not a volume control, which is a bit of a pain.  The sound through the Fishman Aura is disappointing.  However, in discussions with someone else who did a similar retrofit, he says he got improved sound by first replacing the hollow plastic tube that used to house the microphones in the stock system, with a solid wood dowel. Then got even better results by replacing that with a regular Tusq saddle. But I'm unsure as to how he accomplished this.  To be honest, I've sort of lost interest in this as I am now playing a real classical guitar with an internal microphone system, and the sound I'm getting is so good I've lost all incentive for playing around with the Sinsonido.  Good luck.

I bought a second hand aria travel,guitar but not sure the normal audio operation of the guitar , I'm not very sure if this is normal but , when I plug my iPod into the input all the way , the sound of the guitar is cut off ( I can only hear the music of the iPod and cannot hear the sound from the guitar ) and if I plug the iPod into the input half way I can only hear the music from the iPod in my left ear and can hear the guitar on my right , not sure if the electrical wirings has been altered , or is that the normal way the audio sound operate ? The model of the aria is 101C [email protected]

do the strings make any noise when the guitar is not plugged in ?

One ideaif you have the steel string version would be the Lace Sensor Ultra Slim pickup which could just be taped to the body. The version you have is the original Sinsonido which is wider so plenty of room I think.

Yet I'm still curious about setting the nylon strings right. Mine was came with rusted steel strings. It's truly a head scratcher how to set the nylon strings which dont have any "pin" on it. Is it different configuration that mine just designed for strictly using only steel strings?

Hi Don. There are 3 solder terminals on the board for the stock microphonic pick ups which i think is a pseudo stereo, Hot ground hot.
Where did you solder the cheap replacement under saddle pick up with just hot and ground wires on the circuit board ?
Did you jumper the 2 hot terminals ?
