it keeps saying tyhe outputfile already exist if the recording continues the file will be overridden and its content will be lost and says overwrite or keep existing file I tried both noting happened

For those whom still audio is not working still in mp4 format just convert ur vedio into audio. And convert the audio into mp3 format and then import into davinci resolve media and use it for ur video it worked for me

nope the real solution is you need to copy your video files to the "resolve disk database" file and then drag and drop the file from that area, into the import box.

Nope, this didn't fix anything. Videos still won't import, or import properly. DaVinci Resolve claims that the videos imported has No Video and No Audio when the file DOES have Video and Audio. It simply refuses to import anything I throw at it. It's such a garbage overpriced video editor that can't import or playback video files. There are plenty better video editors that actually work better than DaVinci Resolve.

for me i cant import mp3 files is there a solution?

My video files wouldn't even show up in VLC, only the audio ones. It's weird. Davinci imported all my footage except for one, and it's the same type of file as the others. I'll have to find another solution.

I've been trying ALL day to fix this on my own.
Still the same problem in 18.1.4 version.
But this fixed the problem !

For those of who guys are unable to get audio just go to the settings icon just at right of mp4 selection..and then go to audio codec and keep original audio

The problem was solved when I tried to import from the desktop folder instead of the downloads folder, I am using a mac.
