Yeah that's screw is guarantee to work. Gotta be careful. Might blow your retainers apart.. Your best bet is to take that rubber plug out and turn down the adjusting wheel.

Actually, the screw trick is guaranteed to work (from experience). Randomly hammering on it might help but can potentially cause damage.

Valid tip, but it's not a "hack", that's the reason those holes exist.

Not a hack, the holes are threaded to receive a bolt by the manufacturer. that's their purpose! go back to dreamland...
