I don't think the US ever expected to wn. any of these foreign wars. I think the goal was to cause chaos.

I think the popular storymaking fires Hedges is stoking will break the American progressive coalition, such as it is. Oh well. Contempt for Israel is all over social media, fueled not only by popular sentiment and rage memes but impossible to parse misinformation elements coming from state actors. I see an excess of impassioned, unquestioned belief in emotionally compelling narratives and too little critical thought happening. Maybe Chris seldom looks at social media, wouldn't surprise me. I think I read he spends a great deal of his time reading books... which is not something a lot of people do. Perhaps he is well informed, but I suspect he is wildly out of touch even though he claims otherwise. Perhaps he is shielded from the current nasty rhetoric I see from the rank and file left by his status.

Hatred is rarely unprovoked — centuries of coups, assassinations, stolen resources, and blind support for Israel’s dominance breed enemies.

The modern Middle East conflict is just the Crusades in new clothes — ideological war masked as “freedom defense.”

Religion and money are still the tools for control — endless profit for war industries, endless distraction for the masses, endless leverage for elites.

Tactical fix:
