Although when they said all the cameras were out i realised theyd want us to question if spiderbrains was real right the way through the whole movie

Hanush definitely not real in the movie, this was given away by revealing one of Jacobs memories where hanush was a little spider and Jacob a skinny younger kid

i hate sci-fi movies that botch the tech and use the sci-fi elements for character developemnt rather than setting. this movie didnt have to be in space. any isolation would work. I hate watching movies with interstellar travel in a toaster. Thanks for the review. Saved me time

I think part of the message was that even if you didn't have time to make amends in this life, the afterlife is where you get a chance to. As long as you aren't evil of course. One of my major regrets in my life was when my grandma died. Everyone had a turn to go talk to her on her death bed. I was too scared to go. She died that night. When I slept that night I had a dream. Of a beautiful forest where colors where indescribable. There was a park bench. And there my grandma sat. I hugged her and told her so many times I loved her. We talked about random things and she asked me to take a walk with her. We walked through the woods as leaves fell from the trees and she told me she loved me but she had to go. Behind her I saw my grandfather in a clearing. She hugged me and told me goodbye and we'll see each other again. As soon as she let go I awoke. Walking into my grandma's kitchen and my mom told me she passed away that night. I will always love how my grandma broke the life and afterlife barrier in a beautiful place I believe was heaven. She reached out because she knew I was scared. I still regret not telling her that I loved her in life. And I believe there is a heaven and that it will be perfect.

What a stupid movie. Wasted my time.

I'm glad its not one of those "its all in the main character's head" sort of movies. But I just didn't understand if Hanus actually came from within Jakub's body.

I just watched it alone. With no distraction last night. I really identify with the main character. When your far from home, working or what have you. When the one you love is so close but light years away. When you have so many things you should have said. When you take everything for granted and lie to yourself that the blame lies elsewhere. The stuff that comes out of your mouth. The creatures in your mind. You know the hard questions you have to ask yourself. Then when your close to the truth, insanity is tapping on your shoulder saying come on in or stay away for ever. Your choice. 3very man whome seeks solace is a man that looks for answers to the questions from the universe. Lies never start from the beginning. They are the product of denial. The end game is your choice. Keep lying in the disease and go insane or find a base truth and find freedom.

Honestly it was one of my favorite movies I have seen in awhile. I think the trick is not to take it too literally.

I think Hanus represents trauma and regret. The conversation between him and Jakub represents facing the trauma through therapy. Him dying means that Jakub healed. At least that's how I like to interprete it.

I saw it as how Yakob was always searching to be something more than his father. Essentially his father was portrayed as a villian though he was a hero to him. Thus he feels like the need to prove himself as a hero to the people. He needs to feel like a hero and somehow redeem that dreaded feeling of everyone turning against his father.

And of course space adventring and breaking human feats is Heroric. So he becomes an astronot. This is exemplfied when he chose his career over the lost of his new born.

He was always chasing his dream of becoming a hero, which eventually led to his relationship failing. He neverr understood why.


Up until he meets the spider, and he realizes at the end.. that he was never really chasing his dreams, or to become a hero. He was chasing his fears. What i mean by that is throughout his life hes always chosen his career over everything that mattered because he was scared. He was scared of proving everyone right on how his dad was a villian. He was scared that "if i dont do this, i will never be enough, just like my dad. I have to do more, and more will never be enough"

Had he successfully completed the misson, and had never met hanush he wouldve never realized what he was doing to himself.

He then realizes the difference between pursing happiness vs chasing your fears. One completes you, and one drains you no matter how much time, energy you throw at it. Its best to accept, and acknowledge it but other than that, you should feel free to be, and feel happy and stop pitying yourself and just really live life.

I really liked it. Very different and just a film to think about.

Me trying to pitch watching this to my wife: "Adam Sandler is an astronaut alone in space with a giant alien spider... no no its a love story!"

I wanted to know more about Hanus, if i was Jakub i would ask so much questions! He was the most interesting part of the movie and i don't think it would be half as good without him. Oh and a funny thing, when i first saw the spider i was thinking i want to hug it and there was that hug scene... I KNEW it will happen at some point LOL

Hanus told Jacub not to touch him when they met. I’ve only watched it recently, but I think that he was afraid of contaminating Jacub.

In my imagination of what was going to happen, they were going to be reborn back in time thanks to going where they went in space and they could have lived better lives, adam sandler being a better person and Hanus saving his species.

It's not so farfetched as I am going through this... just not at the far reaches of space, I'm at the far reaches of my mind which I challenge to find a difference.

The only thing I questioned was the time I wasted watching this movie as soon as they started floating out in space with the spider I was done and the entire time I was watching it. I was wondering when it was gonna get better, but it just continued to get worse.

the psychological subtexts are not "far fetched" therefore making the movie more than just making this an outer space science fiction drama, but an inner space drama.

This movie is nothing alike Interstellar.
One guy tries to find a solution to save earth
One guy is exploring a purple interstellar fart made of feelings

And the endings are very different....

It's an amazing movie. It had me feeling emotions I had forgot I had😂

Good thing I never watched Stellar, I just know about it though shorts and random reviews.

why did the writers make him a cosmonaut and not an astronaut?

Loved this movie, but it could have done with maybe an extra half hour of run time to really help establish the characters and setting a bit more and to give more weight to the ending. This likely would’ve meant a lot of extra money though so it’s understandable that it was the length that it was

Adam Sandler movies are horrible but this was okay.

I think this story is going to get better with age.

Did not like this movie at all. I generally do not like raw emotional stuff without any logic to it. It's just emotions. A real astronaut would ask about things. The CGI for Anus was not good either. I focused more on that than anything else.
