The 5 principles of Lean:
1. VALUE: Try to understand what is the real value for your customers! Ask yourself: what problem will my product or service solve for my customers?

2. VALUE STREAM: Map each step of the value stream and remove those that do not create value! Question every steps! Usually 9 out of 10 steps are waste...

3. FLOW: Place the value-adding steps close together! This will ensure a continuous, smooth flow of value to your customer from the beginning to the end of the process.

4. PULL System: Let your customer "pull" the value from the preventive activity according to his needs! According to the Lean approach, it is neither the forecast nor the plan that determines the pace of production and delivery, but only the customers.

5. PERFECTION: Always strive to create value for your customers through waste-free processes! There is always room for process improvement, so a lean approach is a never-ending, exciting learning experience.

The 5 principles of the lean approach were summarised by Dan Jones and Jim Womack, the creators of lean-concept, in their classic work "Lean Thinking".
Mission of Lean Global Network member organisations is to spread lean thinking and practice to make the world a better place.
