This is the best performance I've ever heard, but it's incredibly infuriating that there are some scumbags sneezing in the audience.

What a beautiful performance! ❤ I miss my late Norwegian friends so much! I visited them in Norway four times and they were here in California two times...

Over my sixty years of hearing this great symphony I have never heard such a great performance of this work as this! Maestro Petrenko builds on held notes when other conductors are too passive. Bravo to all! ❤

а вот Мравинский со своего пьедестала сначала спускался к оркестру и только потом с оркестром смотрел в зал и принимал аплодисменты. А тут поднимают оркестр - поближе к "царю" - а царь в экстазе от себя.. разница существенна

I love it how Tchaikovsky makes every single member of the orchestra work hard for their money in this symphony. There is no hiding place!

That idiot who coughed in the last bar of the 2nd movement should have been thrown out of the hall! Ruined it.

I love Petrenko. Truly. Everything he touches sounds like magic.

Fully consumed by Petrenco's ability to extract optimum from each symphony player and embrace each listener taking them to optimum ecstasy.

Tsjaikovski's music never could touch my soul. I think his music sounds terrible. And then I'm still polite. Tsjaikovski is my most disliked composer. For me there is only one 5th symphony and that's the one written by the greatest composer ever Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Beautiful use of woodwinds to present the theme and then to argue 😮 with the strings!

Kinda lame tempo for the finale. And the thumbnail is the quintessential image of the utter titillation of these conductors. They think they're so great, but for WHAT exactly.

Maestro's doubts about the quality of his symphony might have been dispelled by this beautiful reading, which never gives in to simply sliding along on the melodic richness of the piece, but respects the incredible musical exactness of the composition.
