Thank you for the idea for the new location. We have had our Christmas party at the beach 2 years now and I wanted something different next year. Really like the San Jose information.

Happy New Year Wanda! Thank you for another great video
ОтветитьWanda, ¡próspero Año Nuevo! 🥂 San José didn’t become the capital until after the colonial era (1823). Prior to that, Cartago was the colonial capital (1574-1823). You can see more colonial architecture there.
ОтветитьGreat video Wanda! Come visit us in Heredia! We have a few colonial buildings left near the central park. We love the central valley and all of it's interesting history 🇨🇷
ОтветитьIn the first phase of conquerors, Costa Rica was ruled out since it did not have gold, later Costa Rica was considered a territory very far from the Spanish councils and audiences, there was also no economic interest from Spain neither the Catholic Church and that It is the reason why there are no big temples.
ОтветитьCosta Rica is the most Spanish country in America, due to Spanish immigration and cultural legacy, but before when it was part of the Spanish empire, Costa Rica was very poor and ignored by Spain politically.
ОтветитьI am from Africa I want to come to Costa Rica Puntarenas in December
ОтветитьShe couldn’t had explained it better. The Spanish didn’t see any importance in Costa Rica instead they focused on Nicaragua and build many villas there. Basically every town in SW Nicaragua has a colonial era church. Costa Rica was mostly rural and they were many ranches and farms while Nicaragua and Panama had most of the infrastructure
Ответить"Today we'll finally be answering a question that has been pestering briantravelman for the past couple weeks, and in fact is the very reason why he completely thew Costa Rica out as a potential destination. And that question is, "Why don't Costa Rican cities have Colonial Districts?"
And yeah, you pretty much answered it for me and it was what I suspected. I thought it was either because of earthquakes, or that the Spanish simply had nothing to gain from Costa Rica, and saw no reason to defend it and build stuff. I was leaning more towards the latter, and you confirmed my theory.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Costa Rican cities ugly. But the beaches, from what I've seen are also very ugly. This used to be one of my favorite countries as a kid, and there were a couple occasions were I came really close to buying that plane ticket, but as of a couple weeks ago, I find the country to be incredibly overrated, unless someone likes rainforest and volcanoes, because those are the only things worth visiting. But even then, I can get the same things in other Latin American countries, plus much more. I think only Paraguay is less interesting in Latin America, and Costa Rica's geography is the only thing keeping it from getting the bottom spot.
If I ever have the possibility of visiting for just one day, just to add it to my trave map, I will. But I certainly won't be wasting money on a week long trip to this boring country.
Bogota vs San Jose, very different?
Ответитьthat was a kinda stupid video bruh
ОтветитьHaving travelled throughout Central America. It is fairly apparent that Costa Rica has no significant history to share. There are no colonial cities, indigenous ruins or old churches. In a lot of ways it is a new country that for much of its history was just ranch land. My least favorite country to visit in Central America.
