audio out of sync, same in the last video of yours I saw.
ОтветитьThe thumbnail transition is pretty cool!
ОтветитьEmbarrassing mistake. Take this down.
ОтветитьSo we just wait for them to pull Retroid Pocket Mini and release the "fixed" version with a 4:3 display, got it. Thanks!
They seem to be afraid to release something so good it would make people stop buying new ones lol
I LOVE the thumbnail to video transition! AMAZING WORK
ОтветитьThis video needs to be replaced with a new video with correct information.
ОтветитьThe thumbnail transition was masterful. Thanks for the video. The fact, that they artificially “worsen” their screen is beyond comprehension for me. The whole screen would be much more usable for most emulation.
ОтветитьSo close, but so many questions. Why sticks? Why that RAM? Just throwing stuff at it.
ОтветитьFor most authentic GBA experience going with 3:2 is the right move. There are million other retro devices that do everything, but few that had 3:2 perfection. Anbernic get a W, Retro reviewers wanting 4:3 in this device get an L.
Ответить'For all intents and purposes'
ОтветитьDamn. Almost.. this device almost the perfect one for me. IDK, for me it makes sense the other way around. Like this 34xx without analog stick, and 35xx with analog stick
Ответитьwhy do they keep trying to make the screen smaller?
ОтветитьThis is now a trend. More and more of handhelds with weird screens
ОтветитьWhy do videos like this that are misleading still exist?
Ответить"I think that clamshells are superior, and I know I'm correct." Love it 😂
ОтветитьIf you really see it with your eyes, you will know that it is a 3:2 pixel to pixel screen
ОтветитьI was going to bomuy this but now I kinda don't want to and wait to see if possibly they'd make one using the whole screen... that is. If all the findings are actually correct.
ОтветитьIt's official, retroid and ambernic are the same company. There's no way that 2 different companies could both be so idiotic with these fugly bezels forcing screens to be ratios that nobody wants.
ОтветитьSo it's the retroid mini all over again but accurately scaled. idk why they would limit this system so much by chopping the screen, I'd be so much more interested if the full pixels were available. Don't need joysticks for GBA... It's just puzzling why these companies make these bizarre design choices. Can always throw an overlay on for GBA and make it look more like an SP anyway.
ОтветитьSo it is possible to change the 3.4 to 3.5 LCD?
ОтветитьWill the 35SP work on the 34SP with some software mod if you swap them?
ОтветитьThey're all selling the next best thing with a flaw on purpose so they can sell you next one acting like theyre improving it. Its gonna be RG40xxSP with another flaw
ОтветитьI’ll keep my pitchfork sir, they messed up with this. Sticks with a device designed for GBA?????? WHY???????
ОтветитьHow they’re able to get essentially pixel perfect scaling for 720x480 content kinda breaks my brain.
Would be really cool if you could somehow have a 1280x960 device that is able to leverage that firmware. But even still, running 5x integer scaling for (effectively) a 3.1” 1200x800 screen on a device that offers that full resolution would be excellent.
Promotion of mass pirating. I do believe.
ОтветитьDon't you mean it's a 720 x 540 screen?
ОтветитьThat intro is SO SLICK going from the thumbnail!
ОтветитьCurious if it will be possible to “unlock” the full screen in the future
ОтветитьYou mention that if they set a higher output resolution to use the entire 4:3 screen would use more memory. This is the only XX device with 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB.
ОтветитьSo are you going to give an update that this was wrong information? It's been proven the screen truly is 3:2 with a resolution of 720x480
ОтветитьI greatly admire your thought process. This was fascinating to watch, and a little disappointing because I ordered one.
ОтветитьBro! You sold me on the thumbnail! 🤌
Subbing
This is fbi stuff right here :) that is some crazy investigation
ОтветитьSo so so funny. Thanks lad!
Ответитьas someone who doesn't mind black bars, i would have just preferred they gave us a smaller plastic bezel and a fully visible 3.5" 4:3 screen. :/
ОтветитьAnbernic released a response opposing this vid
Interesting to see where this goes
I always wondered where they found such a big display at 3:2 for the og 34xx as i love to mod gba and the largest i could ever source was 3.2 inches. Makes sense so 4:3 960p with a custom display controller from the display manufacturer to crop it to 3:2 at 3x scaled.
ОтветитьSo now instead of getting this. I'll just wait until they get it right
ОтветитьI just don't get why now we've received two separate handhelds that have cut off pixels with a 'whoops we hope you wouldn't notice' from the companies. Like I'd rather they just admit what type of screen they are using and be done with it.
ОтветитьThat intro was smooth as butter
Ответитьwhy sell one device, when you can make it worse and sell it twice
ОтветитьGreat technical investigation. Good job 👏
ОтветитьI think I'm going to wait for the next handheld that will make use of the full screen. Is there a way to mod it to take advantage of the full screen?
ОтветитьSomeone please mod it to unlock the 4:3 aspect ratio and we can 3d print a new bezel
ОтветитьThat makes sense. Probably hard to source a 3:2 screen without going the custom route and then adding another 50 to the price to compensate for the cost of a custom screen. THOUGH, what doesn't make sense, limiting the resolution. Why wouldn't you use a 3:2 resolution that uses 1280 horizontal and whatever vertical? So something like 1260x840, to keep the sharpness.
ОтветитьWow 🤯🤯🤯
ОтветитьHold on. You say it's 1280x960? So it's not just a case of part of the screen being masked off, they actually under-reported the horizontal resolution?
ОтветитьDon't need sticks for GBA, though
