i bought my own coffee expresser and now im upper class because i grind my own coffee beans.

Boarding school is such a strange concept to me. I went to an all girls catholic convent secondary school that decades prior had offered boarding. It makes sense to me that parents may want a “higher class” education where more money is spent but class sizes are smaller, learning may be more individualised ect. But boarding? Why have kids to only truly see them or spend any time with them during the summer or school holidays? Private school education is one thing I can understand but these people live in the most affluent areas with plenty of private schools. To go out of your way to pick one thousands of miles away because that one is more prestigious than all of those within driving distance is wild. Why even have children to only see them a few times a year? Is that truly “parenting”?

Harvard was even worse than the posh schools in the UK

Sorry, I have a question, if they are in PRIVATE schools, why are they referring to PUBLIC schools?

My husband's nanny had been his mother's nanny. She moved with my mother in law when she married and eventually took charge of my husband when he was born. She remained with the family until she retired because of her age.
