Yeah Florida is sooo great. We have FREEDOM to get as many guns as we want without having to prove we know how to handle them safely or are a felon. We have the FREEDOM to catch and spread covid several times and abuse the healthcare system. We love to ride the longhaulers train and all have tha covid cough. Our beloved Ron Deathsantis is all about FREEDUM and signs more laws than any other state that's "less free" has. Florida residents are racist hatred birds that love to chirp their song "y'all can go back to where you came from". Florida will be the next swamp wasteland if Disney was to pull out.

Low wages- disgusting greedy companies. Everything costs the same as it was when I was near Chicago. Car insurance more. The drivers are the worst I ever seen- no turn signals, be in the right lane n cross over to turn left barely just hitting any cars-. Remember I’m from Chicago.

People care more about pets than they do people - idk if that one is just in florida. House prices for living does not meet wages. Food costs ridiculous. Healthcare is horrible. Doctors will cancel an apt n not tell you, health insurance is the crappiest I’ve seen .

Palm coast is where I’m at, it’s safe, there is nothing to do- u have to drive to Daytona or st Augustine to find things to do. Palm coast healthcare people drive to other towns- that’s how bad that is. Palm coast keeps building homes n not commercial.while keep marking up rent/mortgages. It’s getting crowded. Oh lord bicyclists think they own the road on a fast road even though there are bike lanes on other roads. Flagler beach weathered away from hurricane. I researched Florida prior to moving except job market cuz I thought I’d be ok from my experiences n knowledge. If ur not a realtor, maid or landscaper ur earning majority about 12$ hr. Anything west of Orlando traffic is like 94 Chicago to Indiana

Registering ur car around $400 but every year after that around $60
I pay $100 for lowest liability insurance. Electric 170
Water/ garbage 140-170
Rent for a smaller home next door $ 2000
Gas 3.70$
Culture shock. I’m used to hustle. N go go- get shit done
People do what they want here n no need for any hurry. Cashiers will be talking to another cashier see u standing there n get to u when they want. Which if I was earning 10$ hr I might do same. Desantis needs to do something about wages n home market pricing

I grew up in Florida but wasnt from here originally. Then I left for 20 yrs to live all over the map and came back. There are less rednecks now but more bad drivers. The traffic is bad near Disney World (Orlando) and a lot of small towns near there have just been swallowed up. It is still conservative except for Miami. Crime has risen because with more people living here comes more criminals. But all in all, the natural beauty makes it worth it.

The Right-Wing folks have won Florida... I am moving within the next year and let them have it... I know a lot of other that are moving because of the crap schools and now they conceal carry gun everywhere... It will likely slip under the ocean soon anyway

I lived in SW FL for six years, it was horrible. The heat, humidity, the bugs, the entitled white a-holes from the north, living in the AC 10+ months of the year, hurricanes, constant rain in summer, horrible electric service (FPL), horrible drivers, horrible roads (stroads). I moved back to the NE and I’d never step foot in FL ever again.

My insurance went up from $3K to $9k in 2 years, and it will keep getting more expensive because Insurance companies are leaving because of the insane fraud done here. So forget Any State tax saving by moving from another state, you'll need it for insurance.

lived in florida 10 years.....left....still miss it sometime....PROS: weather, Churches, beaches, coasts, big cities (Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville) then a few miles down the road nice and rural...Long drives with car to cruise, good restaurants-lots to choose from, great wildlife - gators, manatees, panthers, etc..cool to see, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, etc...Daytona 500, car shows, Sports teams, Football, College and Pro Football, Spring Training, Nightlife, no snow, .............CONS: Lower wages, lack of quality healthcare and doctors, southern inefficiency, bad attitudes from southerners and Floridians, Puerto Rican gangs, emphasis on Spanish language and culture, Expensive housing, Hurricanes, insects, bugs, small lizards running around, a feeling of "NO CULTURE", Lots of wealthy, elderly people, and snowbirds that are arrogant, no change of seasons, that state just gets on your nerves after awhile...

Not friendly like they claim. Insurance is high because of disasters around the country. We had few storms but the insurance has gone up. Home value went way up. Investors by for renters make a community a resort. Lots of Republicans. Few were a mask so COVID is high.

I hear ya about the people who live down there are not too friendly to New Yorkers but my experience going to Florida from the mid 70's (when it was really nice) down to Lauderdale, Boca, St. Augustine, I found many, many people that live there are New York transplants. Thought about moving down there but between the traffic, rude drivers and the cost now is way out of the ball park. My girlfriend who lived down there back in the mid 70's had a 1974 Corvette and her insurance with collision was $300.00 a year! Can't do that today. So I will fly down (with my wife who was my girlfriend at that time) just to visit and stay up New York State and enjoy the season changes, my beautiful Granddaughters and enjoy life!
