When a powerful, wealthy, but corrupt busynessman is caught, and charged..., it is foolish to be betting on their Presumption of Innocence emerging triumphantly after the charges are tried in Court...

Lazy or inattentive Prosecutors might occasionally take a "Dud" Case to to the local Court of Petty Sessions...; and the local Yokels who are friends with or family of the defendant might reasonably doubt if the Prosecution is able to prove their case...

But when Prosecutors in one Nation press Charges of Bribery to the tune of $250 million in US dollars, against a Foreign National who owns/controls one of the largest Coal-Burning Steelmaking & Gridpower-Producers on the Planet...; it's a fair bet that the Prosecutor has an overwhelmingly "Airtight Case" against the Corrupt Busynesman.

And, therefore, when the Defendant's Hometown Cheer-Squad begins bleating about how unlikely the Charges are to "stick" in Court...; that reflexive support does NOT make the Accused appear to be an innocent man, wrongly persecuted - rather the Chorus of "spontaneous support" actually paints the Accused as having come from an entire Culture and Nation of Corruption and Incompetance - because apparently where the Defendant comes from, such behaviour is regarded as being both "normal" and "successful"
