I have 10 years in construction and mechanical. 6 years military and a bachelors in communication. At 28 I’ve realized this is not what I want for the rest of my life. Job security, work life balance, income, and longevity are my top concerns.

I’ve started the cert and I’m working my way through and it seems great and very interesting. Any info on what I should do to start looking into careers? Maybe data analyst for construction? Do I have a chance at entry level?

Google being highly Profitable, operating across the world, controlling, monitoring and analysing personal data throgh AI must focus on creating more jobs, sharing some of its profit to eradicate poverty in nation they operate, rather than entering into education & certifications killing or directly competing with universities, colleges & schools. Support schools & colleges to make education more practical so college can survive & create jobs, and thus Google, Microsoft, IBM, etc can get new people in job. Saddest & irony of the US 🇺🇸 is Walmart is still biggest employers, with average less than $20/hr.

Did Digital marketing Certification from Google, Have previous experience and bachelor's degree on top but can't get a job anyway. Idk what to do researching certificates or will try masters degree. I don;t know what will work at this point

I think Coursera is a great learning platform if you actually take it seriously and actually go through the process of trying to learn the skills. What really hurts Coursera when it comes to the certificates is they make it too easy for somebody to skim through a lot of these courses just to get the certificate, but they didn’t really learn anything nor invest effort into really understanding what was taught. This alone really hurts the value of the Coursera certificates.
It is a rude awakening for people to realize that the certificate by itself is not going to get you a job. Everybody wants to believe that it will, but it won’t.

Great video! I received the Google Data Analytics Certificate and landed a promotion to a different department from a Jr (no SQL) to a Mid (SQL) Data Analyst. Because the certificate is a bit unknown, when I applied for the job, I included a one-pager of what each course covered.

For those who need the money for these courses, please check with your local Human Services office to see if they can help you find financial assistance.

You are lucky. In France those Google Certificate are not recognised, it's just a bonus on the curriculum. French recruteurs are old school and still want diplomas and School degrees. We are so late in front of the rest of the world 😢.

I've been thinking about doing project management but don't know where to start. Do you have any pointers and certs that might be good for the field? I've been trying to do my own research but everything I find pretty much just says to do everything, and that's obviously not realistic.
