Would be great to have the links from the video. As I am jumping all over the video for the primer rattle-can link.
Ответитьthe primer im using is the krylon colormaster covermax Ultra flat black primer for my homebrew chapter.
ОтветитьIf you drag the time marker on the video and watch him he looks like hes having an exorcism cause he cant stop moving his hands when he talks
ОтветитьIf you live in the UK, Halfords spray paints are a cut above. Not enough people know about their cans.
ОтветитьI've heard Ultramarines aren't actually ultramarine.
ОтветитьWhat’s a good primer color under Ivory ?
ОтветитьI really like the wolf grey from army painter for my space wolves.
ОтветитьI like to paint, im pretty bad but im getting better slowly
ОтветитьSo what does primer actually do. cause I used to paint warhammer and world war 2 tanks etc like 20 year ago and never primed anything. at most I might wash them to remove and left over chemicles, oils or what ever I imagined was on plastic models back then
ОтветитьI have been hunting for a can of gloss black primer, can only find paint+primer. Still terrified to try but you gave me the confidence to at least try it on a test model
Ответитьman i just need help picking one for yellows
ОтветитьWhat do you think about Liquitex spray paints for primer? I got some for extremely cheap
ОтветитьI was told a cheaper white primer wouldnt be very smooth is there a brand of white spray can primer youd recommend
ОтветитьGrey prime. Zenith white light from top, zenith shade black (umbral? nadir?) from the bottom
ОтветитьI've been able to prime all year round by creating a "priming room" near my 3d printing room - I have a cardboard box I spray inside that sits right next to an open window, and it's dry enough in that back room that even on rainy days my ratthe cans work fine. Unfortunately that's led to a bit of mold on the walls but it's nothing some vinegar and cleaning spray can't fix. Very thankful to not be locked out of a big part of this hobby half the year - I live in upstate NY and currently don't own an airbrush 😅
ОтветитьHated $10 a can (15 years ago) for Citadel primers.
ОтветитьPrimer Yes, paint and primer not so much.
ОтветитьDid my first priming job today on some old dinosaur toys my partner had lying around. Experimenting with B/W and Grey/White zenithal highlight for my Star Wars Legion core set.
ОтветитьA newbie here.
I've been looking for a substitute for the Citadel primer which is super expensive in my country. I found a local brand with a Primer Surfacer grey that gives my miniatures a smooth surface without the glossy part. It only cost me around 1.5 dollars.
As someone who, in 2022, used some of Reaper models which said they don't need to be primed . . . Prime them anyway. Prime everything.
ОтветитьNewbie here.
I started using black primer and love it. However, for some paint schemes I'm trying to create, I don't have the skillset yet to do bright colors over black primer. I've been unable to find grey primer at stores since they're always sold out. I have a can of white primer and have noticed how runny it is when I spray it on minis. It nearly drips down and stays sticky. Is that normal? It doesn't happen when I prime black. I use Rustoleum, by the way.
Tamiya fine surface primers give a great finish .
ОтветитьUntil today I primed everything in grey, and honestly the difference is amazing when your using brighter main colours like red or yellow.
But yes primer is king, even if it’s not specifically plastic primer.
For a beginner what do you recommend as a primer for nightlords? Black? Macragge blue?
ОтветитьI’ve been undercoating my orcs black and then heavy dry brushing them with brown as a base to build up from. Today I’ve bought khandri dust in a can, so let’s see how it does for them and for Gandalf!
ОтветитьI’m gonna be honest I just now found this video after I destroyed 3 custodies 😂😂😂I didn’t know I had to prime first and now there heads a red 😂😢😔
ОтветитьSo you are incredibly confusing. Essentially if you want to save yourself a step just prime in the color you want your base color to be i.e. red base=red primer so you save yourself having to spray your base color on top of your primer. Always try to match your primer color to your base color unless you want to create a black basing panel shading effect then prime it in black.
ОтветитьCan you use contrast over grey prine
ОтветитьI just use rustoleum basic primer and its never failed
ОтветитьI'll be honest, I use a plain grey primer for everything. I mostly play Warhammer, and I found a grey primer that is the same color as the model. This lets me "do my own thing" and it was really simple.
ОтветитьI definitely can’t get the green I want for my space marines.. so maybe priming from grey or green is the answer 🤔
Ответитьhi I got a question I was thinking of getting Mr color gray inner frame but I don't know kind of primer do I use for a zoids
ОтветитьOOPS, i went for the first time to buy a Primer and they gave me an USE Green Olive and said that i should start with that primer :(
ОтветитьSome of my airbrush paints stick to plastic perfectly without primer
ОтветитьVallejo Hobby spray cans are a must for Bolt action players. I was able to get both my US Airborne in under a week as the primer painted the uniform for me.
ОтветитьToo much talking, not enough info
Ответитьfinally someone talking about primer! Jesus all the other channels just start painting! Feel like I wana pull my hair out!
ОтветитьSo I’ve recently really got into all this….
I got some Warhammer for my little boys off eBay. I thought if we can make our own game, as I played Heroquest and Space Crusade when I was a kid in the 80s….
So I thought it would be fun for my boys to try painting these minis…. But found I was loving it too!
I did Art at university so felt I would be good at this. And I’m not bad, but what’s tricky is the mini’s are SMALL!!! Makes it really finicky…..
Can I ask a question?
I’m new to this. We have painted our minis using Vallejo game colour acrylic paints. Will the paint stay on now (since drying) even if handled repeatedly..? Or do you you have to spray seal them with some kind of varnish??
So, I'm trying to start my first 40k army & I'm going for World Eaters & I have no experience painting besides finger painting in pre-k 😂 should I zenithal prime with black & red primer or do I just do red primer & a red wash?
ОтветитьI have tire raised tire letters which are rubber & I've applied red Rust-Oleum spray paint by using a brush, but it starts to peel & I can see the white coming through because originally that's what they were, so should I use gray primer underneath, this is what I heard
ОтветитьSo grey for imperial fist wasn’t a good choice ?
ОтветитьWhat do you do for priming if your model is half dark color like blue and the other half is a light color like white or light grey?
ОтветитьWhat is the difference between a primer and a paint anyways?
ОтветитьHi!
I would like to ask a question. I want to build an imperial guard (astra militarum) army with the cadian painting scheme. I have spray version of AK white primer. I have used it on some unfinished cheap model kit, and I have not much experience in painting. Is it good for the task or may I buy something else?
Is your alius a Cirith Ungol reference? 🤘
ОтветитьFINALLY THE VIDEO I'VE BEEN RELENTLESSLY SEARCHING FOR!!!!!! Asheville here and I got absolutely obliterated by the hurricane so money is very tight right now.... But I'm doing black templars and was recommended to use spray can AK fine black primer. I'm a tattoo artist of 20+ years so I'm paint obsessed 😂 also coming back to the hobby After many years. I know this video is old but I really appreciate it.
