What is nocturnal epilepsy !!

Ive got nocturnal epilepsy. Its fucking awful. Mine are as a result of a brain injury due to my ex

I have history of epilepsy but seizures only happen once a year my mom thinks I'm dreaming 😂

I have this for the past 15 to maybe more doing this mostly.always wondered why and now I found out I'm not the only one like this.

I was just diagnosed with epilepsy today, i am 13. I was sent home a week or two ago with wires attatched to my head for an overnight scan of my brain and stuff, and apparently i have been having nocturnal seizures, which makes alot of sense now that i look back on what people have told me i do during my sleep. I had one seizure during the daytime back in january a couple days before my birthday, and thats what warranted this entire thing.

I have Nocturnal Seizures.

Is this more common with people with narcolepsy?

When im about to fall asleep aura sometimes get triggerd dont know why.

I have never had epilepsy/seizure fits before in my life of my knowledge until now @ 27, & the only happen when I'm asleep? I went to the doctor w/ symptoms of tongue injuries & bedwetting where I discovered the terrifying discovery 😢

My brother is 13 years old we just discovered he can collapse we thought it was because of cold weather but then he had it again, hopefully nothing bad.

I’ve only been diagnosed with generalised seizures, but I live alone so I don’t really know. I’ve been “sleepwalking” for quite some time now, doing things with no memory after. Like I do when I’ve had seizures during the day. Terrifying when I discovered I had turned on the oven with food inside.

I have a complicated form of epilepsy… I have grand mal seizures at all parts of the day… usually within a short time after taking my meds. if I don’t follow up with some cannabis…

Just to clarify:
Nocturnal epilepsy is when you only have grand mal seizures while asleep. When awake, you never have grand mal seizures. I used to be diagnosed with that along with temporal lobe epilepsy(one where you feel that deja vu thing and have hallucinating senses of some sort). Then it got worse like about 5 years after, wherein it changed from nocturnal to being just the usual grand mal which means basically, now even while awake i also have seizures.

I feel like I’m having this rn, whenever I try to fall asleep I get this weird tingling and an adrenaline spike

My son (6) had his first seizure last night in his sleep, and now i’m so worried it might happen again but now we are little smarter! Most scaring is that he was not able to breathe so gonna keep a watch now every night. Thank you for clearing this a little! Waiting for the tests and everything feels so bad.

My seizures almost exclusively happen in the shower(temporal lobe auras). Why is that?

My 17 year old son has seizures at night with tongue biting. He then spits extra saliva for the rest of the day. Slimy and tough saliva, a little foamy

I woke up with my whole body suddenly hurting as if I've done serious body workout like in the fitness, must've meant my whole body tensed up or something in my sleep, the body pain was still there for few days and gradually disappeared, exactly like body workout. I've also had pretty big tongue injury, biting my tongue in my sleep

I get myoclonic clusters all night long some nights. It keeps me awake and it doesn't stop until 4:30am. It's draining and exhausting. I think it's more likely to happen if I eat sugar in the day without knowing it. Or around hormonal changes. I've been on the ketogenic diet for the last few years because medication just wasn't helping me.

What about seizures being misdiagnosed in ways of sleep apnoea ?

This is what happens to me. I also know when I'm dreaming, and I remember I had an Aura in a dream and I then knew while I was dreaming I was going to have a seizure, and I did.

it happened to me in the morning most of the time, specially when I sleep with my right side, but since i take stress tablets i don't have seizures

I am Vaibhav from India. I experience seizures exclusively during sleep, both during the day and at night.

I am currently taking Brivasure 50mg twice daily, and I have been seizure-free for the past year.

My question is, if I experience a seizure while sleeping during the day, would it still be considered a nocturnal seizure?

If this happens regularly, what will i do to stay asleep continuing Doctor?
Because it often happens at night, this makes it difficult for me to sleep.😢

Iam having partial complex seizures when I having my breakfast and lunch

My 5 year old daughter only has her tonic clusters at night time. We can pretty much set our watch to it. 45mins to an hour after falling asleep. Pretty much every other night. Ending up having to give diazepam rescue medication. She has all her tonic clonics after eating something. And then her absence/myoclonics and drops throughout the day

Are these treatable pls if there is any way anyone plstell me

Yeah that happened to me. I started having seizures at 18 only in my sleep but through the years they got worse and for the last 5 years I started having them in the day about 2 seizures every 3days but it has taken them 22 years to find the right medication for me and now i have been 3 months seizure free

My son suffered head trauma and started having day time tonic clonic seizures 1 like every 2-3 months .during the warmer weather it seems to increase to 2seizures few hours apart and the last 2 years he has nocturnal seizures and it's rather scary.he will always wake up later than his normal hours ,groggy and always has a severe headache .the headaches has become a normal part of his daily life which in itself is very delibatating

I’m epileptic have done a lot of research on seizures an can straight up tell you he’s not wrong… I always had them only at night but as time went on an I got older it got worse an I jus would randomly have them in the day time it’s how seizures rlly affect ur life…

My 9 years old girl had this type, with clear multiple MRI and EEG scans before. Neuro pediatric Dr strongly recommended to start oral medicine. We are afraid not being able to stop it in the future. Appreciate your advice.

I had three nocturnal seizures at 48 years old. Last one I was put on a ventilator because I was not responded at all. I finally came too the next day. I almost did die. I thank God I am still here today. I am 50 now and have not had one since then. all three seizures I was turning blue.
