The MISC Starlancer First Look & Deep Dive | Star Citizen

I went ahead and CCU'd my Taurus to the SL MAX, I'll probably keep going the CCU the MAX to the BLD when it arrives since it appears that my Galaxy won't be getting any attention real soon, though they did decide to make good what they said from stage last year. Just not sure how "Soon(tm)" that will be

i was ready to buy the ship but the game is unplayable
for me with poor fps at landing zones

I am pretty certain that all three variants will have the 96scu rear bay so that that would mean the the 128scu they quoted for the BLD includes the 32scu of building supplies. You will probably need to keep moving boxes forward from the rear bay as 32scu will not even build two small buildings.

BLD is a nice possible concept, yet a good way off, cant see the TAC dropping until Invictus 2025, And its good to see CIG really putting the Hull assets to good use. And of course very important, yet always overlooked by the Noobs:

I too like the concepts but dislike the design

I've been waiting so long for something to finally replace my Taurus, I want a good medium hauler but nothing too big like the C2, the Starlancer Max has all size 2 components so it should be very manageable and soloable.

Replaced Zeus Cl with this because loading that amazing ship was a headache…
This ship will be amazing! Only down side is no lower turret for the max…

How can you have a deep dive & review for a ship that's not even out yet?
We don't know what the final layout will be, what the final anything will be. We'll know what the MAX will be like in about 3 weeks, until then, it's guessing.

need different business model the ship sales is old and hinders game dev and devs need more freedom.

I wish I could take a rover in my starlancer tac. It would have been the perfect upgrade from my old constellation aquila. The rover will be missed 😢

What room are the side windows behind the flight deck a part of? It looks too far forward for the room with the kitchen, or is it? The windows are on either side too.

This is not the ship you're looking for.

The MAX has 128 SCU of cargo capacity in the middle section of the ship and 96 SCU at the back. It looks like what they will do for the BLD is have the 96 SCU available in the back cargo area, and 32 SCU dedicated to the middle section which will be modified to house that 32 SCU and the drone operator seat etc (96+32=128). So there will likely be some gameplay moving cargo from the back into the middle section as needed for resupplying the drones.

It's a good looking ship. I hope those that pledged it will be happy with their decision.

2 turrets with 2 size 4s is not enough imo. The tac with 2x5s is fine even though they're in horrible positions but for such a big slow ship it's not enough firepower if the pilot just has a few size 4s

If the turrets had good views and equivalent of 4x3s good, or just 1 turret with 4x4s would be better. You gotta get 2 more people to sit in small turrets, at least it's easier than getting people in the 2x2s in the corsair or worse, to fire your other pilot guns

Besides the BLD because it has good firepower for that kind of role, the other ships don't make sense even though I really like them. Like the MAX has 224 scu, not bad but that's all it does and is still 1/3 of the C2 at kind of a similar size. The zeus with 128 is just an infinitely better choice and it's much less than half the size. Those massive crew quarters and a bunch of nothing going on doesn't make them good specialized ships or all rounders. Gotta see them ingame I guess

The value on these ships is the best in the game. Especially the TAC. Its potentially the biggest and best a solo ship can arguably get (I know its not designed for it). But 4xS4 pilot guns, SxS3 shields, medbay, snub and cargo. Thats the perfect amenities for long solo expedition missioning. Can be away from base for a long time. In solo or pairs. With blades coming in 1.0 too. The turrets can be automated. Im sure it will get nerfed once released. Coz its basically a more usable carrack.

MISC Starlancer BLD looks great, saving for the Pioneer. Get more rest, Chicken Soup, and a few Hot Totties should fix you right up, get better.

I really wish I could get one of each. they all seem like really good ships. (especially now that the Corsair is Crap) they may not be "sexy" but well made and practical. I will probably grab a CCU to the Build when it becomes available and work my way into it. The Max would find a really good place in my fleet, as it is a Huge jump from MSR to Carrack in Cargo Capacity. been thinking of putting a Taurus and Railen in there as stepping stones. maybe the MAX is a good compromise, but the Railen is sexy.

Max is exactly what i have been dreaming for since the first cargo update! God i can't wait!

I was wondering what things we may be able to do at the drones stations, since I sense the drones are automated. Hopefully they add some more interaction with them. Otherwise I hope we can just lean over the seat to push the buttons, instead having to sit down first just to do that.
The BLD is interesting addition to base building. I'm still curious about the Anvil Atlas platform though. Either its more medium drones, or less large ones. Hoping it was one of the silhouettes we seen this year. Atlas can be dropped off and left, while the carrier runs for cargo to continue building. There feels like a logistical advantage to the Atlas. We'll haver to wait and see.

It is hard to not see how these might out shine the Connies of similar variants.
But the Connies just look so good to me. Though that Merlin looks out of place, and seems fitting where it sits when compared to another RW item.
Hoping one day I can put the Razer there.

When a ship has more than 1 shield generator does each generator cover the whole ship or do they each cover just part of it?

I really like the design of the Star Lancer and can´t wait to get my hands on it.
But why are the introduced as a new series of diffenrent ships?
Where is modularity???

With the major effort to push multicrew larger ships to be unweildy and too much work for sigle players, this ship is a dead on arrival for me as a solo player. Definitely dont need the extra bother pushing me away from the focus of flying my ship and I get all the use and functionallity from smaller less costly ships for my recreational game play.

My thoughts how can CIG build 3 new ships that no backer asked for or own .when there are lots of ships the backers have paid for ! I do like new ships but feel that the Odyssey would have been better to build for the MISC line up . as for other ships like the Liberator , Crucible ?
I am happy that the Perseus is on the way though

I wonder what nerfs c.i.g already has in mind for the tac ?

And all that cargospace chopped up into neat little bits and extremely inconvenient for loading from 2 sides even, the worst any ship of that size has to load cargo.

Interesting that they did not make a research / exploration like the Freelancer DUR to Starlancer Dur? probably was not thought of.

Im not a too big fan of this bulbous MISC design, but the Starlancer is a great ship and depending on the variants that might still come out a perfectly placed step up from the Freelancers and their insane usefulnes in my opinion. CCUd my Raft right away to the Max

can they stop puting pool tables into ships? it is not like a piano or a cabinet which would set next to the walls, a pool table always stay in the middle of a room, its a big waste of space, especially nowadays we can put in or own decos, we bought a 82 meter long ship, but the room space feels like a much smaller ship becuase of that pool table. stop eating up our space, we have hands, we would buy and put in our own deco.

can I play the ship 100% alone? I always play solo. Or would you recommend a solo freighter please. Thanks

The Max will likely be able to hold 400+ SCU if your willing to not keep all of it on the grid. If you look at the shot of the rear garage area it looks like there is space for 3 32SCU boxes in between the two cargo grids plus you can stack an additional 16SCU on top of each 32SCU crate. Also if you look at the front of the garage it looks like there is soace for at least one 16SCU crate possibly even a 24SCU crate either way you can still stack 8SCU on top of the 16SCU crate and another 8SCU on the side of it all adding up to 400SCU even more if your able to fit a 24SCU crate in the front
