What do I do if I lose my job bc of the pandemic its been a year. I have my associates in Cyber , but I can't find a remote job .

What do you suggest I do?

I decided to study networking and become a network engineer and i really like it but i have fear that am i smart to become an network engineer ?

Before anyone considers a job or career path in IT. You should know the truth, the field is very toxic and is commodified just like most other areas of business that are considered liabilities, and yes IT is considered an expense/cost/liability since it's hard to measure the revenue directly from the department or service. In the beginning you will most likely get paid between 16 to 18 an hour as a customer service agent that is under heavy scrutiny and expected to be proficient in a wide spectrum of different technologies while doing an intense level of multi-tasking. You can be expected to manage thousands of devices and users while also handling security, logistical, and accounting/billing/work orders for those devices and users............not joking. :/

On top of that you will be under pressure from both the end user side to give service with a smile and find root causes to issues so they never appear again, and the pressure from mgmt. to meet your metrics to either keep department costs down, or be profitable as a service level provider within the agreed contract. Just some things to consider before jumping into this career.

My advice for people starting out - if your comfortable with computers, do CCNA. You will learn a lot. Also do Help Desk for 1.5 - 2 years. Study what you want to do in your next job then do that after Help Desk.

Wow, you guys work really hard to get a job. IT isn't what it used to be, it seems. Saturated.

Any advice on where to start learning in I.T or what course to start in .I live in London the U.K and theres so many courses online to choose from .
