So basically they are exes and they keep getting back together. One calls the other to say I miss you but knowing there is not real interest behind it. He knows she will eventually get sick of the lack of progression in this repetitive cycle they keep going through. That's why he says he'll give her two months and she'll be over that. She's sick of him saying I miss you just to come back into her life and do the same thing again. He will say well that's not what I meant and make it seem like she's reaching too much for something he never offered
