Bangladesh Could Become Asia's Strongest Economy

There's a one-word answer to why Bangladesh isn't a strong economy yet: corruption. The former (now ousted) administration stole $130 billion (USD, obviously). I want to point out that this is slightly less than a THIRD of our GDP. Our people and the interim government have begun purging the corruption, and hopefully, we can get somewhere after this.

As a Bangladeshi, the good news is that Bangladesh managed to kick out the dictator's government and put in a competent interim government before they could destroy the country like the Rajapaksas did with Sri Lanka. The bad news is that this pissed off India who supported the dictator.

Bangladesh was one of the most prosperous places in the world for much of the history until the British showed up and ruined it all. The British left in 1947 and since then Bangladesh has been trying to get back to its previous glory; however, a combination of political instability, corruption, and natural disaster has been a obstacle.
