DOGE has been a fiasco - the tiny savings they are claiming to have achieved (but have provided substantiation for only a fraction) have not come about because of better efficiency but reduced services. By the time all the costs, unlawful dismissal suits and loss of revenue from the gutting of the IRS have been calculated, it will probably wind up a net loss. Then they have to go back and rehire all the actual oversight people that they fired. None of the claims they made about all the SS fraud they had uncovered came to anything - it turns out these computer geniuses just didn't understand how the database worked.

The whole thing was probably just theatre to give the impression that this massive tax cut would somehow be funded by savings. It won't be - it will just spike the deficit and thus the national debt again just like Trump did with his last unfunded tax cuts. Your kids will be paying it off for generations.
