Guilty Pleasures (Hitchcock-inspired short film)

Our task was to produce a Hitchcockian suspense sequence of four minutes in length. The completed sequence needed to achieve a Hitchcockian ‘feel’, and/or recall the director’s filmmaking practices by emulating rather than imitating.

We drew a potentially Hitchcockian prop at random from a selection (the photograph) and had to integrate it in a narrative situation. Shot over the course of an afternoon, we were not allowed to shoot more than 40 minutes of footage.

Shot using a Sony FS5 camera and edited using Premiere Pro.

Music by Bernard Herrmann.
