When someone doesn’t want to believe that there is a God they really just want to be their own god. Hide from God. How did that work out for Adam and Eve

People don’t need more evidence to believe in God. People need to repent and recognise that they have been suppressing the truth that they have known the whole time.

Everyone has a relationship with God, either in Adam, or in Christ.

Unfortunately, this man is hardening his heart, and just as Pharaoh did, God will prepare him for destruction if He doesn't repent. May this man's eyes be opened before it's too late. This is the true, sad reality of so many. They want to be God and think they know better than God😢

I honestly relate to what he's saying, I've wondered that too (about how self-centred it may seem), but a thing God helped me understand (added to the things you mentioned about his rules being inherently good for our relationship with Him and other humans) is the nature of His required worship, and the nature of our sin.

For the worship aspect, it may seem self centred to give Him all the glory, but when we begin to ascribe that worship/glory to other beings, we essentially attribute a "copyright" to them that isn't theirs. e.g., if a pharmacy makes a drug to cure an ailment, and I rip off their brand name and put another on it, a consumer could go to the falsely attributed brand, expecting to get the same effective drug, only to get a fake that would affect the quality of their lives. The same happens to us when we chase other gods or our own pleasures, and we bend to their requests, it's evident in our history as a species.

For the sin nature, I learnt to see it not only from the perspective of needing to be punished for one or more sins, but also from the fact that our sins are never a singular occasion of an "oopsie". The moment Adam sinned, it changed him and his descendants, making our nature one that craves sin repeatedly. So even if God were to forgive all our sins and grant us a pardon, we would still sin again and again. It's why Christ's work didn't only stop with the penalty He paid, but it also offered us a chance to inherit new natures; without Christ's new nature, we'd be incapable of living in harmony with God and ourselves in Heaven.

There's so much to it and there's likely more that's holding him back from wanting to believe again. I just hope he opens his heart to the seed you left with him, and I pray the Holy Spirit opens him up to more truth about God's nature vis-a-vis his own sinful nature.

Ryan asks "If Christianity was true, do you think you would believe it and follow it?" The guys answer was "No"... This is what most people who CLAIM to be an atheist are REALLY stating!

If Christianity were proved true, he would not believe it. Wow! That kinda says it all!

It's all about God but remember, God works for your good. All glory belongs to God and that's a good thing because we humans are fallible and incapable of what God can do.

This guy if he was invited into your house I believe he would steal your belongings,eat your food and wreck your life,it's ingrained into some people.

Jesus tells us to believe, not for his own selfish desire but because he knows that if we dont then we will go to hell. So he tells us to believe because he loves us, and so much that he gave himself for us on the cross.

If if if... But that is exactly the point: The 100% prove is not there.

One thing this guy got wrong is that people go to hell for rejecting Christ. That's simply not true. If it was, then those who will never hear the name of Christ or hear the gospel that end up in hell would face injustice from God. It would be completely unjust for God to send someone to hell if they had never heard about him or never heard the Gospel. The truth is that people go to hell for their sins, but those who go to heaven go to heaven not because they haven't sinned but because Christ has paid for their sin. See, the gospel is exclusive, and it's not open to everyone but only to those whom God wants to save.

He’s Jamaican and grown up seeing all kinds of hypocrisy and hardships which may of put him off religion, also I suspect he may be what we call in Jamaica a ‘fish’ which can cause persecution there, adding to resentment as he likely sees ‘religion’ as a cause behind this.. just my thoughts tho.

The issue is, even if facts are thrown in their faces, they still wont accept it bc it doesnt work for their selfish desires.

As "adults" we are still a pale comparison to God, we are incredibly presumptive when we think adults are the be all, end all. We are then putting ourselves on the same level as God. Thats a dangerous place to be. We lack that deep creator ability...

Obedience is better than sacrifice/hell. There is still plenty of choice within the range of obedience,

The question I would have to the house analogy is that we didn’t have the opportunity to decline being in the house (not choosing to be born thus not choosing to be subject to eternal torment)

That's like pure his own will. Hell is not meant for us human just as what's says in the bible, it's for those fallen angels.. Hell is a place where the saying goes, "not your will God, but MY will be done". That's saying, I am God not you. Although in book of Genesis, it is explicitly said that God created us like his own image and likeness so that means it's also in us or in our nature to think that we are God on our selves. I was skeptic for a moment on my life but changed when I understand what LOVE truly is.

If God was selfish or self-centered He wouldn’t send His Son to die for us!

It’s not a belief it’s truth and our opinions don’t change the truth. It’s the truth that God is only way to avoid outer darkness. It’s not mean, it’s good you know truth now choose it.

and that is the root of their unbelief in Christ.

people view God as if He is not God but just a person, a human of our level. That is why when we see Him demand worship and glorify Him, we think He's self-centered and narcissistic. But He's not, why? Because He is God, worship and glory is His! When a human wants glory and worship for himself it is sin because those don't belong to him, it belongs to God. So it is only right that worship and glory and honor is given to God, it is His.

The one true triune God is not selfish. He didn’t create the world because he was lonely, as if he needed anything (Acts 17:25), his love was an essential attribute not dependent on creation (1 John 4:8). The trinity allows this, as the father and son were loving each other before the foundation of the world (John 16:32, John 17:5) This is because he was never alone. He created the world out of selflessness. The father glorifies the son, the son glorifies the father, the spirit glorifies the son. As we as Christians can now do good out of selflessness, not doing good out of the selfish desire of earning our salvation, the selfish idea of doing good things for a vending machine service of blessings, but doing good things because we are saved already. It allows us to be selfless, so that when we do good for someone else, we do so because we genuinely love them, not because we don’t love them but do it for our own selfish gain. We love others because he loved us, and also because mistreating his image bearers is mistreating him. It’d be like attacking someone’s kids, that mistreats the parents when you do that.

That guy doesn't care about the truth... He just wants to be his own god...

If he must encounter Jesus for himself, he will sing a different tune. I can't help people who don't want to help themselves. Bet he believes in his ancestors. Jesus is King, this guy will learn the hard way.

I’m afraid if he thinks that way then he will be lost. God sent his only son to suffer and die for our sins. We are saved by Hid blood, we should be thanking Him every day. Amen 🙏🙏🙏

You should ask if you understood God, would you become a Christian? If they say no, then you would get a very serious indication about that person vs. lack of knowledge.

We are adults fair enough, although not one adult on the planet can control themselves at all times at every second of the day, we just cannot (if we are honest with ourselves the answer is always the same that we are simply not perfect and not completed yet) so with this in mind there was only one perfect human in history and His name was and is Lord Jesus Christ !

Now if we accept even only Historical evidence it proves that there was a fellow called Jesus and He was indeed crucified at the exact place mentioned in scripture, then even if you don’t want to accept Jesus as the Son of God and God then you still can’t deny that this Man called Jesus walked perfectly, talked perfectly, showed courage perfectly, healed perfectly, loved perfectly, sacrificed himself perfectly, died perfectly so much so that death couldn’t hold Him and Rose Perfectly 3 Days later ! Oh and as for the subject of what our Sweet Friend Lord Jesus did perfectly, I haven’t finished yet really because He is still doing things perfectly and will for ever.

For my atheist friends, i have been there and found myself giving excuses to myself as to why God can’t exist even though deep inside I somehow just knew the Truth that He really does exist and is who He said He is, the excuses where my way to continue doing what I inherently knew was wrong and leading me to a dark place of nothing but what felt like a taste of eternal pain caused by me, it felt like an addiction or better said a lack of control I kept doing what I really didn’t want to do.

He’s real He’s coming back real soon and He didn’t leave us as orphans He is with us by His Holy Spirit right now 😊🐝❤️
