Man, I haven't heard a Mac 128k startup groan in years. It used to creep me out when I was a tot.
ОтветитьIt's Missile Command buddy. Learn yer video game history! There will be a test!!
Ответитьi know this is an old video but fix those floppy drives man!!
ОтветитьI think the 68000 was actually quite powerful processor for the time. The 400k disk drive has a very distinctive sound.
ОтветитьThis is amazing....
ОтветитьIncredible!! My dad got the 512k back in '84. Such memories, and sleepless nights playing on the Mac. We had this fan that mounted on top to cool the monitor. Airborne, Dark Castle, Lode Runner. Lol. Thank you for sharing this!
Ответитьergonomics are incredible for the time.
ОтветитьDo a video about imac g3
ОтветитьIt's faster then my pc running windows 10
ОтветитьThe iMac pro literally has 1 million times more ram. The 128GB model
ОтветитьIf only this machine would have had a color screen when it was released back in 1984. MacPaint would be so much better in color.
ОтветитьOne of the weirdest things apple did back in the day was to have a black and white mac while the Apple IIGs had color and great sound but was slower than the mac on purpose.
ОтветитьSomehow I ended up with a 128K as my second mac, I have no idea how, for free I think... to go with my Mac SE. The 128K was rancid slow on those 400K floppies, I don't remember what I tried to use it for. I wonder where the phrack it is now, probably still have it in the junk collection somewhere. Oh, it had one nice thing the SE didn't = no fan! It was quiet. That's why I tried to use it.
Ответитьmouse is like vga cable
ОтветитьI have one of these and a couple of external floppy drives as well. I boot mine from an external SCUSI drive and I also have an external CD rom drive.
I tried it out with an old apple laser writer I have. A lot of effort.
what? ı belived
ОтветитьHella old but still such a classic look, one of the best designed computers, timeless
ОтветитьWow, it even had the interrupt and reset buttons. I think most people either lost or threw out that part.
ОтветитьYou windows, Me macintosh
ОтветитьAnd it was already outdated when it came out..
ОтветитьCan I play Gta 5 on this?
ОтветитьInteresting. Thanks
ОтветитьHow cost back in 1984 the Macintosh 128k

ОтветитьSystem is a beauty. Hang on to it. Value is only going up. The full systems for thousands.
ОтветитьI have a non working M0001 128K Apple. I need to remove the hard drive before getting rid of it and remove a floppy which won't come out. Would you be able to advise? Thank you. Tom
Ответитьmacisntoch 128 k es la mas vieja
ОтветитьWhen you put away this machine into storage, ALWAYS remove the battery, because those things are gonna leak inside your mac! And when they do and you don't spot it in time, the battery will take this machine with it to the graveyard. I had a classic way back in time, and i opened it up and removed the battery, these kinds of macs will run fine without a battery, it will just forget date and time and some setting, but thats a nice compromise i think! There are macs out there that require the battery in order to power up, i think the Macintosh 2 line, some of the performa's and some models of PowerMac, mostly older macs with a soft power on feature. Nice vid btw man! Nice to see one in such good shape!
ОтветитьCould your record the boot up again closer to the chassis? I’m very nostalgic for the start up noises. Ours was 4th gen and was as loud as a freezer motor.
ОтветитьWhy the cpu teardown?
ОтветитьIt seems pretty compact for a PC from the 80's, although not as compact as the Radio Shack trs-80 model 3 and model 4, but the Macintosh 128k is pretty darn advance with the fact it has a mouse and is probably one of the first computers to have a paint like program. I might be wrong though.
ОтветитьIt’s crazy how fast it started up!
Ответитьhow about the phone modem?
ОтветитьI remember seeing one in Jerry Seinfields apartment. I have two of these and got them out to play with, now looking for new pram batteries, for them, and for my powermac G4. thanks for the video!
Ответитьps... if I get those top screws off, I'll leave them off and tape them to the back, mine do not look like philipps heads, oh boy!
ОтветитьNice video !
Ответитьwhere can i find a new one in the box can be used in 2022 😁😁
ОтветитьThank you for this video.
ОтветитьHappy 40th Anniversary to the Macintosh!
