watching this while doing an inclined walk haha
ОтветитьDoes it damage the knees?
ОтветитьGood video. But 2 things: I've heard the calculation for the Upper limit of zone 2 is 180 minus your age (Phil Maffetone's calculation - aka MAF Method). Also, according to Peter Attia, if you had to talk on the phone with someone, while doing zone 2, you'd be able to talk, but the other person would know you're exercising (couldn't really hide it).🤔
ОтветитьJust happened to start doing incline walking on a treadmill with a weighted vest. A 6 incline at 3mph for 30 minutes. The weight is coming off.
ОтветитьI’m on day 3 and I love it so far ❤thx u
ОтветитьWhat about MAF training?
ОтветитьI used to do zone 2 cardio in the 'old lady bike' (that one you sit like in a couch) at the gym while read a book. It was really fun, but I could only hit the ideal heart rate with caffeine. Now I'm doing the inclined treadmill and loving it.
ОтветитьThank youuuu
ОтветитьWhat if we want to lose weight? What would be the speed n incline for it?
ОтветитьInteresting I will tyr this out but maybe not at the incline of 8 maybe 6 and see how it goes
Ответитьmy sweet spot is 10 incline at 3.0 speed for 30 -45.mins max great cardioa and fat burn! peace
ОтветитьZone 2 - just below your LT1, yes? (Lactate Threshold). For me, nearly matches 60- 70% HR max (actual my upper limit is 72% of HR max) but not the 220 - age x0.07 calcs. I got my LT 1 and 2 from a full test at a sports clinic, taking blood etc to check build of lactate as exercise got harder etc
ОтветитьHow to do this with bad hip as incline adds so much stress on hip joint…please advise
ОтветитьI never had this high number (even if I literally chocking out of breath) my calm rate is 60, I don’t know how to measure really, my max is 136
By this formula it would be (220-28)*0,7=134
Intermittent fasting works great just for weight loss. One meal a day of 1500 calories. Easy.
ОтветитьThis video was super helpful and informative. It was my 1st introduction into Zone 2 Cardio. Thank you for sharing
ОтветитьI hear too many people saying they're going at high settings on the treadmill and running. This is not beneficial for fat loss. It can create cortisol in the long run and although you might enjoy it once in a while, you're better off, walking longer on the treadmill at lower pace and do variable inclines go heavy sometimes and then come back down again. This way you don't stress your body and you'll lose more weight. I guarantee you that I'm speaking from experience. I used to be a big runner, I learned my lesson
ОтветитьThat was extremely helpful, thank you!
ОтветитьGreat job. Thanks!
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьSuper helpful video for beginners as I am. Just joined a gym at 65 and while I’m working with a personal trainer I can’t fit all my questions into a half hour session each week. Been wondering what zone 2 training is all about and this made it super easy for me to go to the gym now and try it out! Thanks!
ОтветитьAwesome. Thank you!
ОтветитьYou made the video while walking. Literally walk the talk ❤
ОтветитьDid this man just casually say he is 45 while looking 27?
ОтветитьI’m still confused. You said start off at a speed of 5 mph? And an incline of 12??
Ответитьwhen i do cardio i am usually always in zone 4? will zone 2 make it so it burns more fat?
ОтветитьI just brought my Polar HR monitor back to life, and I’m going to start the zone 2 cardio protocol. I do high rep, low weight resistance training too. I do IF (18/6) and try very hard to eliminate highly processed foods from my diet. Also, no more sodas including diet sodas. Im 57 and after 1 month, I went from 222 to 214. I’m shooting for 180-185 lbs. I’m tired of being fat and out of shape for racquetball.
ОтветитьThis was super helpful, thank you. I will start this today at the gym
ОтветитьIt depend how aerobically fit are you, i do 15 degree treadmill walk for an hour and my average hr will be at around 100bpm and thats my zone 1 hr. For zone 2 at around 110-125 bpm, i need to run at about 10minute mile in order for my hr to go up to zone 2. So it is not about what exercise your doing but keeping your hr at zone 2 for fat burning, it could be a brisk walk for some but a run for others...cheer.
ОтветитьI think it helps my sleep. I’ve been walking with a ten pound weight in a ruck sack.
ОтветитьWhats the minimum limit???
ОтветитьThe calculation shows me as 123 (upper limit) but my apple watch shows me between 135-144 for zone 2???
ОтветитьIf I can keep my heart rate at zone two with just brisk walking on level ground ie without any incline on the thread mill, does that work? Or must it come with an incline?
ОтветитьHow are you 45???
ОтветитьI'm sick of hearing about mitochondria. Increasing the size of the heart is by far the dominant benefit of Zone 2. You can build tons of mitochondria with only walking, but still have miserable aerobic fitness. Zone 2 makes the heart larger and larger the more you can increase your Zone 2 pace.
Ответитьexcellent explaination
ОтветитьI wasted alot of time to tell 01 simple thing. Which is worth of 01 minute
ОтветитьI'm 60. I do 80 minutes of walking at 4.4mph on a treadmill and keep my HR above 115. I only eat one meal a day. I can hardly lose 1 pound a week.
ОтветитьIf this is too easy, is zone 3 more beneficial from a cardiovascular stand point compared to zone 2 ?
ОтветитьWow you look amazing at 45
ОтветитьYou look great for 45. I will to 😉
ОтветитьStarted today walking at 15 incline at 3.1mph, was worried when my heart rate was at 146 but upon calculating I should be at 143.
although I noticed after strength training, my heartrate was at 164 for the whole 15 min I did on the treadmill.
I bought an older gym high-quality treadmill just for doing this
ОтветитьThis is the way. I lost 35 pounds solely doing zone 2 cardio and lifting weights. I'm 37 and my HR never got above 132. Combine this with monitoring your food with a diary like MyFitnessPal and it's a game changer. I have abs at my age and am well below the 10% bodyfat range. Weights / abs three days a week, walking 60-90 min 3 days a week on incline.
ОтветитьI walk my huskies 6 to 8 miles a day, and it’s a workout
ОтветитьExcatly what I was looking for. Expalined well, without any fluff and without compromising on the content. There is a fat burn mode at the treadmill in my gym, but I found it too slow for a zone 2 you described. Is that accurate?
ОтветитьI usually do it after strength training for 20-30 minutes at 12 incline and 4 speed
ОтветитьThank you
