My children, 10 and 12 are so hard on their clothes. Maybe they are just rough boys, but I find I need to hit the thrift stores often. My youngest wants the brands that his friends have, so I try to go often because I am able to find it, if I look often enough.

Growing children will keep a momma shopping!

Truman Capote never finished another book, but he started Unanswered Prayers, stories about the society women he befriended, which was published after his death. Worth the read!

People LOVE a good trashy novel! Just look at the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy. Those books were pretty poorly written (in my opinion), but people just went nuts for them, and they were made into a movie. Sometimes I want to read books with lots of depth, but sometimes I just want a good trashy novel. 😁

I'm enjoying your daily vlogs. Congratulations on finishing your book! That's a major accomplishment! I shop at thrift stores, too. The Goodwill in my area became very high priced about 2 1/2 years ago. No more 50% off on certain colored tags, no more $1 Sundays on certain colored clothing tags. Now it's the more you buy the bigger the discount you get. I'm looking for other thrift stores.

I think it is great you are doing what you love and are enjoying it so much. Please do not sell yourself short. You have NO idea what you can accomplish with hard work and developing your writing skills. I watched a friend start painting years ago, very basic and amaturish and now she does amazing art. She loved it and worked at it. You have no idea what you can accomplish as you grow your skills.
Ever since my heart attack and open heart surgery almost 12 weeks ago , when I realized just how precious life is, and how lucky I was to still be here, I made the decision that I wanted to make sure I was doing things I loved. I am still trying to figure out what exactly that is, but the journey is the best part , just trying to figure out what it is I truly love to do. I used I write a lot, and read a lot and want to get back to both. My husband and I are making changes in our life so we can enjoy our life together in retirement more and make life simplier for ourselves, down sizing a bit, purging the stuff we do not need anymore and switching houses with our daughter who rents from us, this house is much better for her family, the other house will be much better for us. It is a journey of a lot of work, but we will all be so much happier with the move. We want to travel, and do fun and creative things, less yards to maintain, and a house that suits us better will help us with those goals.
I love your new channel name, I do believe in magical thinking and a lot of really weird and wonderful things have been happening since I let go and just trusted that things are good and money will be flowing in. 🙂

From what you've said your mother's illness would be categorized as "major" mental illness. I have spent several decades in the whole foods, meditation, yoga, body work.... style of living. I have seen 3 friends with personality disorder ie NOT a major mental illness, take on the things you mentioned wishing your mom would have done. All 3 of these folks to this day, have been dedicated to their protocols of nutrition and healthy living. Here's the thing, they are in good condition etc but their mental illness was not improved. Who knows about your mom, you did right by her to be her hospice helper.
