How to do INKTOBER - Beginners guide!

I was looking forward to doing my first inktober. I'm just getting into drawing, after not having 'picked up a pencil' since high school, 30 years ago. So I'm a noob, and not very good. After seeing what others can do, I am very intimidated now and having second thoughts.

Where can I follow Yoji Shinkawa? I can't find him anywhere :(

ALsooo I am considering making my own inktober prompt list based on Halloween cause I LOVE halloweeen!

Also, I forgot to say this before, but I'm a digital artist so yehhhhhh I might not be following the rules T^T

I have all my ink supplies ready for this year. Every year I only make it to Oct 10th lol This time I wanna make it all the way!

I NEED TO GET INK PENS😂 But I'll improvise on what I have mostly but I'm participating this year. And MerMay next year. It really helped for learning inktober in depth because I'm a lost lamb during the October months lmao

Is faber castell pitt artist india ink pens okay?

This is going to be my first year doing inktober!!! Really quick question I know it has to include pen ink, but can I use other materials like sharpies, colored pencils, etc??

So can you do ink toner on digital or does it have to be just traditional

Honestly I feel like people are too worried about this, I just see it as having fun drawing spooky stuff. I love October so much and not a lot of people are going to see my drawings so I cam just keep them for myself (I do post them tho for my friends lol)

Doing my first inktober this year, I'm not an artist but enjoying it immensely. Feels good to be prompted to draw every day.

i'm by no means a professional artist (or even amateur) but i recently felt the desire to draw something so i decided to do inktober. i'm only posting it on my private account with no subscribers but i feel like it's going to help me start drawing more seriously. it's such a nice idea and i think because i'm free this october i'm going to finish the whole list.

My favorite art supplies are wen i am doing inktober for myself are: a fountain pen. I got a realy nice fountin pen that you fill whit inkt from a bottle. Than i love to use a mechanical pen whit coloured pencil. I love to sketch whit it. I can,t live whitout it and they don,t smudge the page wen i draw. Also i love to use a light brown papered sketch book, inkt colours, Black and white inkt and a ereaser. These are the things i can not live whitout wen i do inktober for myself. I love you,re art and i love how you explane what inktober is and what you need for it. Thank you for that and have a lovley day bye 😃👍🏼👋🏼

Thank you for posting this video and for all the information and insight you shared! I'm currently feeling like the new kid on the block. I'm very new to drawing/painting. A few years ago, I started with acrylics. Only recently, I ventured into watercolors, and now I'm finding myself knocking on ink's door after finding Inktober mentioned on Doodlewash's October Drawing Challenge. I know comparing is a no-no, but it's so difficult not to at times. I see ink drawings like the hardcore, cool kids in school lol. I've definitely not got a signature style... if anything, I'd be vintage, pin-up, Americana type of art. I'm going to look into the resources you mentioned and explore my vintage Americana inclination as well. Thank you again, Lucas. I'm looking forward to getting my ink on!
