Bandai Movie Monster Series: Gamera (1965) & Gyaos (1967) | Double Review

Barugon is the only showa Gamera kajiu that hasn't gotten any merchandise lately.

Yeah nobody cares about him but still he's been left out.

This is literally all I ever wanted Bandai to do for Gamera: new showa figures. And they flipping delivered! Turtle and bat looks absolutely amazing, no complaints from me. I'm so happy. Gamera is really getting it good this year. Hope it keeps on coming 🔥🐢🦇

I'm waiting for Show Barugon, Viras, Guiron and Zigra from Gamera Rebirth, Iris and Zedus and I thought of getting the Showa Gamera and Gyaos but 1995 ones are enough since they're what introduced me to Gamera in the first place which makes them my most favorite but I do still planned to get Jiger from Gamera Rebirth and Legion Solider just hoping they're won't be any really good Bandai movie monster series figures that might cut me off

The simple designs of a lot of the Gamera monsters makes it easy for them to transfer well into toys. These are great.

They should release a silver variant that Gyaos figure as Space Gyaos.

To be fair, Showa Gyaos not being able to turn its head is just being faithful to the movie; they went out of their way to explain that Gyaos can't turn its head due to having a toning-fork like neck that allows it to produce the sonic cutter beam.
Hoping they do the later, large-eyed design of Showa Gamera too. It's cool that they specifically did the original 1965 suit, but the design changed for the later Showa movies.

It’s funny how these MMS Gamera figures are so nicely painted and detailed and the MMS Godzilla figures are so lazy. (Godzilla 1954 & Mothra 1992).

These gonna be up on Amazon like some of the previous Gamera releases? It’d be great to not deal with import prices lol

I think the Gamera figure is less Gamera 65 and is more Gamera 71 from Gamera vs Zigra or even Gamera 80 from Gamera Super Monster, but that’s just me. I’m probably not gonna be getting the Gamera figure because I still have (and in perfect condition I might add) the Memorial Box figure, and it’s great I love it. Now that Gyaos though, I love it, I NEED IT 😍!!! Also by the nice name drop, Hitomi is…😍🥰😘👍perfect!!!

Hopefully we'll get the rest of the showa gamera monsters in the mms because they need love, really bummed baragon didn't make it into the Netflix series.

Funnily Gyaos having no Neck swivel is accurate to the original movie lol. There was a lore reason for why the suit's head was incapable of moving left and right.
