If the missiles can reach from the front line to the back borders, then Putin has nowhere to pull back to. If NATO targets Russia, then that is a threat to Russia so like any country Russia must retaliate against NATO. But Russia's allies will also become part of the war as threatening one will be like threatening all. I think that would be WWIII.

what's the UK's response if Russia attacks its overseas military bases and barracks and the UK takes high losses? The UK would not be able to avenge these losses because the Russians don't have any such vulnerable bases, they kept everything at home.
