Master ip couldn’t beat geddes like his other opponents he had switch up his style he took a more technical defensive approach and had to fight dirty cause geddes is younger and faster and skilled younger ip would’ve definitely been more offensive and kicking more and he was faster either way geddes learned a tough lesson kung fu is not to be played with

I liked the films, they are actually really well made. I don't like that it promotes 'fake' style of fighting and kungfu though which doesn't really work.

I am going to be the adult in the room: People here actually thinking martial arts is going to prevail against someone 3 times your size that knows how to street fight. I say this as someone who has done martial arts for 27 years...has done all the tournaments and even won some...that!... is the catch. I fought against other people and their martial arts styles...with rules. I am 5'9, and about 160. If I get into a street fight with someone that has zero martial arts training but has a heck of a lot more strength, bulk, and muscle than I , and knows how to "street fight".... the outcomes are as follows. 1) I get super lucky with a KO punch, strike...2) I get my butt kicked. You can be the most disciplined and well versed martial artist, but if there are no rules and the other guy is much bigger and stronger than I, one connecting shot from him to my face/head or potentially my core/stomach.... it's lights out for me.

The Marine guys fighting style was really good, and both their stances aren’t that different. Only flaw is that going for effectiveness the marines style loses possible versatility to specialized fighting styles like Wing Chun.

I love how in every movie ipman fights to learn from the opponents style and techniques. Then matches their energy as well, starts off friendly exhibition then when they get injured he ends it with forbidden martial arts. Iykyk🎉 never to kill or to death just to eliminate the threat. With the exception of the mike Tyson fight that one he was losing and didn't get to use the arts 😂 but sized em up though

Master Law would have destroyed Geddes. Wide open spaces, and the floor wasn't very slippery. This would have been Master Law's time to shine.

I love how the teased the throat strike in the other movies only for him to use it only when he had too.

You can hear the power behind the strikes of Adkins' character. I wouldn't want to get hit with a punch like that.
