Coffee tables are dumb. If you want to drink coffee and talk, go to the dining room, where people can see each other's faces. 2. Like all other horizontal surfaces, coffee tables will just collect clutter. 3. They make it harder to get into and out of the couch. 4. People bark their shins on sharp corners.

Are these Rules or Guidelines?

This is excellent decorating advice - I've watched scads of videos about size / placement of furniture and rugs, but never so specific in terms of measurements which makes it SO much easier. Great job!

There’s no hard “rules” in your own space do what you want. If someone is going to judge you based on these things you don’t want them in your home. Also it makes no sense that an 8x10 rug is the only size that can go with a queen bed, 6x9 is perfectly fine.

Really useful tips. I rarely learn anything new from this type of video, but it was all new to me.

Coffee tables are out of style, can them, they look old.

9: 02 Note to self: really like the look of that hall way. The paneling doesn't get too high. The walls are slightly lighter than the trims etc. Even like the pattern of the wood on the floor, which shows either way which way to go :)
