I agree with these wonderful grateful viewers. This video tutorial is STUNNING. Wow. What a neat professional looking button band. The extra knit stitch makes the difference as well as the exact gauge. I will try this on a sample until i get the hang of it and correct my mistakes. Impatient to get started but its midnite in France and will have to wait. Thanks a million for this fantastic well explained detailed super closeup video. Thanks for sharing and caring.. 👍👍👍💕
Ответитьthanks for sharing your knowledge Suzanne, much appreciated. What about a garter stitch button band? do you have any advice on that (instead of a rib button band)
ОтветитьFabulous !Thank you💕🧶
ОтветитьI’m very late to this video but thank you so much for making it! I just made my first cardigan and I’m just not happy with how the front is being pulled up due to picking up the wrong amount of stitches for the button bands. Now I know how to calculate the correct number for when I redo it!
ОтветитьI've never done a button band before, and now I'm knitting a V-neck cardigan from the top down. I'm a very happy knitter, having discovered this channel and this method, and I highly recommend it to every knitter I know. Thanks a lot Suzanne❣
ОтветитьThis was so helpful! Wish I watched it sooner so I would have better bands on other sweaters. I hope you did the button hole video because that’s what I need to do next and how to sew on buttons there are so many tricks that really improve your finishing work hard to know what they are as the patterns don’t cover them thank you so much for sharing your expertise!
ОтветитьI’m so happy that I found your videos, I’m hit and miss on getting my band on a cardigan laying right. Thank you for sharing how to set it up correctly.
ОтветитьHi! This is a really great video that will help avoid knitting and then sewing the buttonhole to the edge!
I am going to try it on a cardigan that I’m currently knitting.
I was just wondering if there is an explanation for why you calculate the gauge for the rows on the ribs instead of on the stockinette part?
Dear Suzanne. I've not tries this jet, but i wanted to. I'm a European so how can i do this in cm? I'm not unfortunate a mathematics genius.
Ответить❤ very helpful! Thank you!
ОтветитьI've been using this video for every single cardigan I have ever made; it is by far the clearest and thorough demonstration I have seen!
I do have a related question - would this method work for non-rib button bands? For example, I am wanting to attempt a double knitted button band for my current cardigan project and am wondering if the same principles in this video can be applied to a double knitted button band?
Thank you so much. Now I have to do the ath just with cm.. 😉 Greetings from Berlin, Germany❤
ОтветитьI am so grateful for your videos!
ОтветитьHi Suzanne, your tutorial on buttonbands has converted me to trying knitting more cardigan patterns. I've always tried to avoid them in the past! Thank you!
ОтветитьSo useful. Thx you!
ОтветитьThis is the video I was looking for. I love how you explain the consequence for too many or too few pick up stitches and what it would look like so we know how it will look even before we do it ourselves.
ОтветитьWhat measurement is she using. 4” swatch?
ОтветитьI find your videos and teaching techniques unparalleled...Thank you so much for your help...
ОтветитьThank s for the information. I’ve always struggled with that My mum said she’s going to do this in future especially with setting the button holes in
ОтветитьWhatever project I have coming up, I know where to find the best info to review before starting . Your videos have eliminated many hours of frustration and disappointment for me. I sincerely thank you.
ОтветитьHello Suzanne, I am new to this site but love your helpful tips. My button band has asked for 69 stitches and to begin one row with Purl, Purl, and the next row with Knit, Knit. I do have the little dip at the end, so do I make every row begin with Knit, Knit? Thank you for your help. A happy knitter
ОтветитьThis video has given me confidence to pick up these stitches now. I’m no longer sweating bullets. Thank you Suzanne. You’ve saved me again!
ОтветитьE uma pena q não tem tradução.
ОтветитьAs always, this was so helpful! Thanks, Suzanne. I love the granddaughter in the background too :)

ОтветитьSo clear, I learned so much. Very impressed. Answered my questions, Hopefully I can do it.
ОтветитьJust the information I was looking for. Very well explained. Thank you
ОтветитьThank you for this very informative tutorial. Although I have been knitting for more than 60 years, I learned a lot! Do you recommend adding that 3rd stitch on all ends that are going to be joined so that I get a proper 2st rib or stitch to use for pickups, in most cases/
ОтветитьThis was a complete video about attaching a button band that fits and looks great. Thank you.
ОтветитьThis is Genius! Now I’ll never fear making an add on button band again. Thank you!!
ОтветитьSo helpful thank you!
ОтветитьWOW! I have been knitting for 2 months. I hope I need this video someday- way over my skill level. I appreciate the way you teach. I am envious of your granddaughter - what a great instructor she has! I love to knit and want to learn. I am going to learn a lot from you. Thank you.
ОтветитьSuch clear instructions thank you for posting ❤
ОтветитьFantastic video! I was terrified to add my button band because my pattern was so unclear, but now I feel confident that I'm going to have the straightest and neatest button band! Thank you for the great tutorial!
Ответитьso helpful ❤
ОтветитьWhat a brilliant video. SO helpful. Thank you! 😊
ОтветитьSecond time watching. Just ended up with a slightly wavy button band after following patterns no of sts to pick up. Not redoing though as hated doing this particular band in recommended wool!
ОтветитьThis is a really good video. I am following a pattern and have the notch problem at the beginning of the button band. How do you correct the notch when you are following the pattern for the knit and purl stitches? Thank you
ОтветитьThis was so informative! I am making my first cardigan sweater and now have the confidence to put the banding on the front. Thank you so much! I will be looking for your band with buttonholes videos also.
ОтветитьAfter 40 years I finally know how to make a band. 😂
Thank you.
