Anthony's actor gave me chills, he's so talented!
ОтветитьThanks for posting Lili
ОтветитьCatherine is so right here. Given the latitude, they would end up keeping her and her son on a leash if their coup ends in success. Mehmet the conqueror wasn't so wrong to introduce killing siblings law, considering all his relatives were power hungry bastards just like the case in here.
ОтветитьAmazing scene. Very touching.Such sadness and misfortune for that family.
ОтветитьI love that this scene shows a bit of Catherine's emotions when she lies about Ivan, she is not happy about it. Poor girls, such a delusion! Great discussion between mother and son, Catherine explaining to Paul the harsh reality. And can I just say how well done was the Father's sad face when he realized the prayer wouldn't happen, poor guy just looked so disappointed!
ОтветитьI read this family up on wiki and. My heart. The girls truly wanted nothing more than to visit a meadow to see some flowers 😭 they all later got send back to Denmark but by this time they were so used to their captivity they couldnt get used to their new tiny court. They all seemed to suffer ill health. The last remaining of them, was one of the sisters, she outlived her siblings and alone in Denmark, she wrote if she couldn't return to this castle. Because she and her siblings did find a semblance of happiness there. Reminds me a bit of being institutionalised.
How these brothers, nevermind the girls could pose a threat to a serious army for me is hard to see. They truly seemed good simple people. Also very clever with all their restrictions and emotionally being impacted they did manage to learn to read. Just like Ivan could talk, recite his Bible and knew he could be emperor. The father deduced his son was dead while being lied to. A true waste of human potential.
Seeing these simple, poor and faithful people and then Catherine yelling in Pauls face I had a feeling she was over reacting and the threats of the imposter Peters got to her. But more so compensating for her obvious guilt.
I love how she mentioned Elizabeth Ist of England. Often due to biases, people forget that even the greatest rulers walked through blood to keep their power.
ОтветитьWhere can I watch this series?
ОтветитьWhoa whoa was the translation off? Everyone killed more people than Ivan the Terrible? I can't stand the story of Ivan VI, yet ironically I like Catherine II.
ОтветитьHow beautifly said. People do remember them but only because they feared them and paid more attention to this world as they were blind to what will happen when they die.
