What do you think happened to all those small tribes that joined together to establish the Ashanti Empire in 1670? The Atlantic slave trade was in existence for over a hundred (century). Our history is too complex to be talking anyhow without facts about the history of the slave trade. There was no Ashanti Kingdom before 1670. Who were those slave raiders?
