Cap when making a request to land but you didt understand the tower coz he was speaking to fast can you request to repeat what he said?
ОтветитьSooooo, did Romeo Roger Wilko?. :/
Ответить.-.
ОтветитьI could never be a pilot. Even with subtitles I can't even recognize what they are saying 8-(
ОтветитьAs a pilot, I used "WILCO" for years. Flying as a private pilot, I sometimes flew with my friend Roger. If I would have used "Roger" with ATC, it would have confused my friend Roger......
ОтветитьPilots say roger, because the are hidden combat droids from Star Wars.
ОтветитьSpace quest - Roger Wilco
ОтветитьI have fond memories of bombing Hochimin city when I was flying for the navy .
ОтветитьRoger
Ответитьfirst flight was NOT The Wright Bros but was by Richard Pearce in Nelson New Zealand 6 months earlier
ОтветитьWhere do you come from , where did you go, jgjgjgj Captain Joe 😂
ОтветитьTHERE’S A HOLE BELOW THE WATERLINE, WE’RE FLOODING QUICKLY
ОтветитьThat intro with the “Airplane!” Reference 🙏🏾
Ответить"Airport it is! Roger wilco and all that." - Resetti 2020
ОтветитьI just wanted to tell you both good luck, we’re all counting on you.
-Airplane (Aka Joe’s Intro Dialogue)
Also I’m sad you didn’t jump in the pool :(
It would be a controlled water landing.
Olá Cápi !
What About “CC” ?
What Does It Stand For ?
Many Thanks !
Só Mais Uma Coisa Cápi !
You Are Not Flying Very Often to Latin America, Are You ?
I Can Tell You That There’s No Flight Without Brodcasting At Least a Couple of “WILCOs” Around Here in Ezeiza, Resistência, Mendoza, Santiago, Among Other FIRs Down Here.
It’s Common, Easy and, Now I’m Sure, It Belongs To Aviation History !
How Cool Is That ? ! ! !
By The Way, “CC” Stands For
“COPY and Will COMPLY” !
We Listen to It a Lot Flying on EURSAM !
It is an Expression That Dates Back to the Second World War.
Many Thanks !
Best Regards !

Cue "Airplane!" jokes!
ОтветитьCaptain Joe your videos are awesome mahhn! Could you please make a video about flares
ОтветитьHey Joe be carful in vietnam there is very traps !
ОтветитьRoger, Wilco
ОтветитьGood Morning Joe
Really informative video
You are right
I am an ex-service man and we were using Roger and Wilco in our radio communication. Roger we mean received message and understood and Wilco means received message, understood and we will take action. you took me back to those days
I really expected you to just jump into the pool at the end
ОтветитьI have fond memories of my youth guiding Roger Wilco thru Space Quest adventure, great video as usual!
ОтветитьThanks Captain Joe! Great video! In english, Roger can not be accidentally mistaken for anything... Wilco? Wilcox? Willcox? Will co, or even will go could sound the same. Language is and always be a funny animal of a more and more connected world.
ОтветитьThanks for the explanation. I once asked “how do you know his name is Roger” 🙈. I think you can guess the response ☺️
ОтветитьThere is a chain of Liquor stores in New Jersey called Roger Wilco
Ответить@captain Joe why is the phrase " Soo Long " Used for?!!!
Ответить.-.
😂
now i knew that you went to vietnam! hope to see you one day
ОтветитьShould we pay for the newsletter captain?
ОтветитьAirplane tails are like shark fins
ОтветитьOn second thought let's not go to *Vietnam*... Tis a silly place...
ОтветитьRoger Thatney: " I was serving as a testing pilot at the beginning of WW2 for the US Navy and since our plane equipped radio systems were not very advanced the signal was often getting lost and only parts of the conversations were heard, so whenever my name was called other pilots only heard 'Roger..', or '..That..', so we were often joking about the signal quality and eventually instead of saying 'I understand' they started jokingly saying 'Roger That'... "
ОтветитьSuper 👍❤️
* I have a request that please do increase your volume by fitting a Mike in your shirt (in your all videos)
Roger, Wilco, Over, & Out are used in general US Military voice communications. Roger = I hear and understand. As you said, Wilco = Will Comply. Over is when you finish a reply and are waiting for more. Out is used when you are finished and do not expect a reply. So Wilco-Out is Will Comply and signing off. You never use Roger-Wilco together or Over-Out. It is one or the other.
ОтветитьThat doesn't explain the use of "roger"
ОтветитьBecause the pilots love SPACE QUEST and SIERRA ;)
ОтветитьDear Joe; How about Lectures on Avionics (Aviation Electronic System) of Commercial Aircrafts.
ОтветитьTell us about the flat earth.
ОтветитьWilco is used almost daily in my flying career. Especially when its hold position etc :)
ОтветитьRoger doesn’t even feel like a real word anymore
ОтветитьCoz they say that in the airplane war movies that's why....
ОтветитьReceived Will Comply
ОтветитьCap'n end the Argument Is the world flat? 😃
ОтветитьTo save you time - "Roger" in the early days developed by using the letter "R" in morse code, meaning message "received". And Wilco is short for "will comply"
ОтветитьGracias por su explicacion, muy util!
