For salespeople accountability in sales management is something that can be tough. Sales is not a industry where participation trophies are given out. There is only one winner in sales and a bunch of people who didnt win. Accountability in sales management may hurt your feelings because the tough thing needs to be said and some salespeople cant accept it. The best sales advice for sales managers is to hold your salespeople accountable. What you need to know is one of the common problems salespeople face is accountability. Most salespeople cant hold themselves accountable and they look up to their manager to do it for them. Most closers will hold themselves accountable. One of the reasons why salespeople fail is they have no game plan when it comes to the work they will or will not do. A struggling sales rep has a tough time asking for the help they need and if you are a sales manager you will need to keep up with their efforts. If you really want your staff to learn how to sell more and learn how to close more sales accountability is the key. Most salespeople are lazy and have a horrible sales presentation, even worse most salespeople never really grasp sales basics mastery. Your ability to hold salespeople accountable for what they learn in sales training does help them increase sales. Sales strategies and sales training does nothing for most salespeople without some sort of management.
