I have a question. While I would really like to find a D&D3.5 because of the options thats probably not available.
How are the BECMI rules? Ive heard its mostly limited to playing Humans, but at a high level cap of 36/Immortal. you havent talked about the BECMI rules in a while.

Im hoping if I can go into BECMI I can find the right people who can enjoy the minimalist approach to character creation, and enjoy Mystara as a setting.

When I ran this back in the day I really leaned into the whole ‘the kara kara drums can be heard across the whole island’ thing and had a CD of Japanese taiko drumming on repeat.

The players cheered when they finally interrupted the ceremony and the drums stopped.

That's a great module, innovative, and the afro-orcs are awesome.

I ran a version of this as an intro game back in the day. It works really well for groups that have no d&d experience and work as a kill team avoiding, evading and assassinating their way through the tunnels. The three invisble, charmed adventures were so nasty that when rhe group broke the charm on one of them I l went against the text and let him join the PC team for awhile before Maerie secretly murdered him.
Evem back in the 90s I had my brother draw a new Kara-kara Pic to show the group, and yours reminded me a lot of it.

When are you going to review Delta Green for Mad Musings?

Hello all! I convinced Maerie to join us by having her drink a Potion of ESP and then using it on her father to show how little he cared about her and was using her.

Another reference to Muppet Treasure Island. First I was reminded because of a scene involving an OC I made (long story), then Legends of Avantis talked about Rizo being their favorite "pirate", and now the screen cap of this video.

How easy would it be to run the older TSR modules in ShadowDark? My father last played in the 80's and I like the lack of bloat compared to 5e.

My party split the tribe due to a mix of charisma and magic use. The resulting civil war culminated on the bridges over the lava. (Dancing to open one of the doors earlier in the game was hilarious.]

I didnt give up on Quagmire. I reworked it, including in the Minrothad Sea trade, got the party into using a factor to hire and purchase a ship full of supplies. Reworked the size and design of the city, making it more realistic. It was a lot of work, but worth it.

Excellent review! A great example how art - good or bad- can destroy a good game. Might make a great convention game!
