Youra Guller plays Chopin Barcarolle Op. 60

Too slow, like not enough flowing . But apart from it i like her articulate play when it is articulate . She is one of my heroine. Best barcarolle for me i am still searching ... It is a difficult one, don t like when they rush because it is like you are craddled by the boat, but on the other hand too slow, the.music does not flow well like water does, so it is a dilemma. And technically it is awfully hard to play.

And by the ways IMO she was gorgeous when she was young. Just my type of woman.

It's not too "slow," but her touch is too heavy, her playing too "notey" and her phrasing too apt to languish and nearly die before reaching a climax. From hearing  her Liszt sonata I'm sure sure must have hated to practice. She gives the impression of a very talented person who sight reads extraordinarily well, but never really "finishes" the pieces she performs. The loud, labored ACCOMPANIMENT figures all-but kill the already too languid performance. Her trills are excellent. The rest leaves much to be desired.

Her handling of the mazurkas is first rate and very memorable.

Is that Clara Haskil standing next to her in that photograph?

I think so and look her r. hand ! I wil seek how Clara this music is playing ?

Are the measures 50 to 60 cut out or does she skip them ?

A legendary exponent of the piano.I wish there were more recordings of her playing available.

Fascinating

I am one of the lucky ones to own a recording of this fine pianist. Nothing is perfect in his world, but Ms. Guller is close enough for me.
