Action 5 Looks better in most of the footage. Especially with high contrast. The dynamic range does really well.

What about DJI batteries? I have a GoPro Hero Black 8 that works well except for the original GoPro batteries that became swollen fairly rapidly. I have bought replacement ones from another vendor and they are more durable (i.e. they don't swell up) but unfortunately they don't last as long when filming. I'll still keep my GoPro for the time being but will most likely switch to DJI in the future.

Image quality on a gopro? Considering they don't work half the time, the image quality is 5hit! Never ever buy a gopro!

Great video! Quick question, how does Lightcut compare to GoPro Quik?

I'm new to video editing so I like those "auto highlights" until I get a grasp at editing. And how quick and easy is it to edit something on the go and post on social media? On Quik, with my Hero 8 it's relatively easy to do a quick edit and post on my Instagram story, but I haven't tried Lightcut yet because I don't have the action (which I'm interested in).

DJI 5 for nights and GoPro 13 for everything else.

(DJI) Less expensive, not overheating, lighter weight, added extra accessories, longer battery life, not shutting off, better video quality in low light. Why do you even compare??

its incredible. some years ago GoPro was the Goat in the action camera market.
nowadays Insta360 and DJI are rocking the field and Gopro has to catch up

It's a pity these are not compared at 4K 60p: they are action cameras, after all, and they only have electronic stabilization, which needs high shutter speeds. Many cameras still cannot handle 4kp60; these can; why not show their advantage?

Do you have any thoughts on the supporting apps of these cameras? DJI's Mimo app is not available on Google Play (and there seems to be concern about privacy issues with DJI). Honestly, this is the major factor for me in deciding between these two cameras. Although, I'm not finding much information on the topic.

Great comparison Jake! The consistent performance of the DJI Action 5 across all modes or environments is amazing! I noticed that the Action 5 did a great job of keeping your face exposed properly even in high dynamic scenes where you were backlit and your face in shadow which would be beneficial to vloggers. I would be interested in a similar comparison between the DJI Action 5 and the Insta360 Ace 2 Pro. Great work again in a beautiful real world environment.
