The bucket helmet of the prince was outdated compared to sleek coned defective helmets
ОтветитьWhat I never understand about this period of warfare is why they didn't use strategy very well? Why did the Frenchies try charging over and over? Why couldn't they have flanked or tried different options. Medieval warfare always seems so brutally futile. The deaths that occured seem utterly pointless.
ОтветитьNonsense. Made up history
ОтветитьAt first glance the Oriflamme, France's banner of no prisoners to be taken, is kinda badass...but then you realize any enemy seeing it and knowing what it means are going to be that much more determined to kill as a many Frenchmen as they can.
ОтветитьComicbook nonsense.
ОтветитьCastillon was decisive.
ОтветитьThe point of the English bow and arrow is to attack the horses forcing a melee face-to-face fight. The arrows do nothing against steel protection or thick leather and do nothing at range. Bows were shot directly at the target, or rather even below as the arrow jumps up in the air. It would be used under 50 metres. Arrows were not shot up into the air other than harrassing, it would be just a waste of arrows that won't penetrate any protection. Arrows shot up into the air and travelling like intercontinental ballistic missiles is the strangest idea lol. English archers would be waiting to shoot until the horses charging at them were ontop of them and then aiming at the unprotected legs and underbellies of the horses.
ОтветитьPhilip's horse was very unfortunate to have been killed twice
ОтветитьFun fact the black prince was half Moor and North African. Hence the name.
ОтветитьHey, whats the mod and game?
ОтветитьWow this thread is littered with every cliche and counter cliche ever bogussed forth by 3rd rate academics.
Ответитьi really want my game to look like that but i feel as if it would be a pain installing everything and such
ОтветитьDisse-lhe Jesus: "Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida. Aquele que crê em mim, ainda que morra, viverá;
e quem vive e crê em mim, não morrerá eternamente. Você crê nisso?"

Les gallois seront toujours les suceuses des anglais 😂😂
ОтветитьConsequences. The Norman Conquest of England and Wales in 1066 directly resulted in war between England and Wales lasting periodically for another five hundred years. Crecy included. England and France would fight further wars but they were unrelated to 1066.
ОтветитьAnytime I can casually hear m2tw static battle music, I will crack a grin.
ОтветитьI still think that history channels should use total war titles in their documentaries to simulate what the battle would look like
ОтветитьMedieval Battles were absolutely brutal
ОтветитьMatters little because in the end France was victorious and won the war
ОтветитьNow, please batles that frenchs won, like Orleans, Castillon or Patay.

ОтветитьA beautifully executed rendering. If only the battle had been so attractive.
If truth be known from contemporary accounts, a very large proportion of the English army were naked from the waist down as they had been suffering from an imflammatory bowel disease, (dysentery), for the past few weeks. The result was they were tortured from uncontrollable diarrhoea that had totally soiled their under garments which had been discarded.
The almost ninety degree angle of attack allowed the bowmen's arrows to catch vulnerable points in the armor such as neck and knee joints as well as the meeting of the breast and back plates. In addition to the armor piercing arrows, it is thought that the archers also dipped their arrows in their diarrhea as a form of biological warfare and also for psychological impact.
Let's see you render the truthful version !! 🙂
Ye.
ОтветитьI have read about one peasant, who was just a minor charakter in the beginning of the book about that mis...Alex "the great". That poor man should find a horse, provide himself with food and weapons by himself, was a part of a small group which he could not escape without being noticed...As he miraculary stayed alive and went home, it was no home there...Just destroyed house and his wife white from grieve: his both sons were taken to slavery as he left...😢
ОтветитьWho will win: experienced french army, knights, bohemian soliders and genose mercenaries or peasants with comically large bows.
