Prof. Schütze on Word Representations & Dr. Rambow on Machine Comprehension at Elemental Cognition

I have words for", according to Ludwig Wittgenstein. Building machines
that understand language is key to building machines that have
human-level intelligence. This digital meetup will dive into the world
of Computational Linguistics to highlight some of the most prominent
current research on imbuing AI with language.

Prof. Hinrich Schütze will present his work on word representations that
enables Deep Networks to understand words as concepts and to achieve
higher reasoning capabilities than just statistical word frequencies.

Dr. Owen Rambow will present a whitepaper by Elemental Cognition on the task they are tackling: Machine Comprehension. Their system is an
attempt at building one of the strongest modern AIs that can truly
understand the texts it reads.
