I’m so thankful to hear that I’m not alone in this. I have been in survival mode and now have good things happening but I don’t know what to be excited about in the future. It leaves me feeling low mood and anxious/fearful that I don’t look forward to something. How to overcome this? Push through and plan something?
ОтветитьYou really know what you're doing! The way you simplify ideas and add a touch of fun keeps me coming back for more. Keep up the creativity; you're truly inspiring everyone around you! 🩷✨🌍
ОтветитьOmg i finally understand what ive been experiencing. I haven't been able to plan haven't wanted to do anything. Totally not me just a feeling of hopelessly. And I preseved the world to be tired. Im slowly emerging from it, listening to this episode has helped me understand.

ОтветитьSuch an important conversation ❤🙏
ОтветитьHorizonless PERFECT
DESCRIPTION..
I HAVE TO WORK ON THIS. I NOW HAVE ..❤s new view in my mind everymorning when i wake up alone..and scattered like a deck of cards.😢
Very depressing. It is very hard in today’s world to find and make friends especially with the political divisions and couples preferring to socialize with other couples. I think you found it easy since you are famous and people want to interact with you. I felt depressed after hearing the podcast.

Ответить❤ I loved this podcast 🥲
ОтветитьPsychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Ответить(response to her first sentence) Summary of the “Joys of Solitude”
Jessica Grose is a journalist and novelist who gives her opinions on family, religion, education, culture, and how people live in the present moment. Jessica wrote the article “Embracing the Joys of Solitude in the New Year.” The date the article was published was the first of January 2025. The source of the article is in the New York Times. Jessica’s article goes over her thoughts about the loneliness and solitude brought by the Hermit’s grave. She describes loneliness in her article as a normal feeling everyone gets that has been characterized. She tells how Hermit used extreme solitude to be alone in the woods, and she’s not looking for such extreme solitude. Using solitude gives her time away from others, and she can focus on her thoughts. Her point in the article was to argue peeople shouldn't be looked down upon because they enjoy embracing time alone. The thesis is embracing time alone can be positive.
Grose wrote about interest in the New York State landmark called Hermits Grave in her article. It’s a historical landmark from the 19th century that she learned about in fourth grade. In the 18th century, the New York Times wrote an article about the man the landmark was about who was named Hermit. People found Hermit peculiar because he lived a solitary lifestyle in the woods, away from other people. He was comfortable in his solitary lifestyle, away from other people. Gross found Hermit aspirational because he glories his time alone from other people. She’s not looking for a complete solitude lifestyle but one away from people’s thoughts and wants. She worries recent generations, don’t look up to his solitary lifestyle. She thinks recent generations think time alone is bad, so they never get to embrace it. Gross also thinks they usually have a person to talk to with their electronics, which is why it’s hard for them understand embracing time alone can be positive.
Gross wanted to embrace time alone as something positive without the need for medicalization since there’s no diagnosis attached to it. She thought social isolation, poor mental health, and physical health were definite problems in society. They were more of a problem than the surgeon general's announcement on loneliness being an epidemic in 2023. The surgeon general wanted to describe loneliness as an epidemic while millions had no food or drinking water. Gross wrote how the data on whether loneliness has increased has been skeptical. Gross quoted Eric Klinenburg’s writing on “Times Opinion.” The quote’s point was data before epidemic happened didn’t count drastic spikes in loneliness or social isolation. She explains that there isn't strong evidence to prove whether friendlessness or loneliness has increased in America.
Gross wanted to embrace time alone as something positive. She explains there isn't strong evidence to prove whether friendlessness or loneliness has increased in America. She got from the sociologist and writer, Claude Fischer, that we’re seeing periodic scares about loneliness, not a loneliness epidemic. She wrote how there’s oft-cited statistics showing loneliness is like smoking 15 cigarettes a day which can cause death. She quoted “Julianne Holt-Lunstad,” saying some versions of this comparison differ from the original data, and it has been repeated so often that it has become kind of the game of telephone. She got a response from Klinenburg from her A.I won't solve loneliness story, which was how loneliness can be a beneficial feeling because it tells our bodies we need good connections with people. Gross thinks Klinenburgs statement is accurate.
In conclusion, Jessica wrote the article called “Embracing the Joys of Solitude in the New Year.” The point of her article is to argue people shouldn't be looked down upon because they enjoy embracing time alone. Jessica’s article goes over her thoughts about the loneliness and solitude brought by the Hermit’s grave. The thesis of her article is that embracing time alone can be positive.
insightful🙌🙌
ОтветитьI was trying to listen to this podcast w my mom in the car because she feels stuck, and it took 30 minutes to get to anything helpful. Pretty sure she left more depressed and helpless because of the extensive blaming of our biology lol, plus all the ads.
ОтветитьGreat Episode... It's like It's made especially for me... Now I understand what has been going on inside my mind.. Thank You both
ОтветитьThis is amazing! Have few traumatic health conditions starting in 2009 and their is not CURED they both revamped my life, emotions, no long can work my job fully, etc etc.
I didn't even get excited to going to Hawaii, Disney, California, etc. Son's eagle & graduation ceremonies, etc.
Dr gave me depressants! Didn't do anything. And told me the same crap statements you said that everyone says! Even when I told him from my TBIs my brain is numb, can't think or process thoughts, drunk/hungover (without the nausea) like all the time. He told me I should be happy that I didn't have to pay for the booze or get sick 🤢!! Even sent me to a psychiatrist and she was no help and didn't even figure out that I was 3 years out with beyond post concussive symptoms and undiagnosed TBI. We talked about my continuous horrific headaches, unable to remember the simplest things, get lost on my normal driving routes or forget where I was going etc in my early 40's!! 😖🤷🏻♀️😕
Is there more help out there for me?
There's more to my story and have always put the smile on and say hello to strangers etc and done some of these steps. I have difficulty getting quality sleep many episodes not apnea related.
Dr MEL: I'm in Central VT and would love to have a coffee with you sometime!
Signed uncomfortably numb!
Wow, I needed to hear that !! Amazing 👏 🤩 thankyou ❤️ 💖 I feel so much better and now I understand how I can look after myself well 😀. Great work Mel !!! You rock 🎉🎉

ОтветитьI don't why, but since 3 days ago, i'm stressed and anxious in a crushing way: i'm scared and worried at a hurting point...I just wish to die very soon so, i hope, i'll be at peace at last...
ОтветитьYou haven't met me yet and i've been told i'm a pretty great person looking forward to the future
ОтветитьYour guest voice gives me stress
ОтветитьI love how she took physics to philosophy ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThis for the "I'm broken I cannot get excited at life" moment
ОтветитьToo may ads. I'm out, what a shame.
ОтветитьNow i have a word to describe what im feeling. It is indeed horizonlessness
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thankyou thankyou thankyou ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьMy son is Austic.. and it’s constant overwhelm.. for him and for me x
ОтветитьBut::: having been surrounded by NARCISSISTS your whole life - solitude feels healing ❤
ОтветитьDon’t discount how much is influenced by demonic entities that 100% actually Exist
ОтветитьWould help many if you’d discuss the NEWS ‘ cancer is back ‘ sense of HOPELESSNESS . I have 0 hope that my future on this planet will be joyful
ОтветитьLove this video. This is it! Now, define your purpose it’s been the hardest thing for me to see right now
ОтветитьOh Mel, Thank you, you have given answers and light to questions I had over the period I am going to (very long one) horizonlessness ... May your life be filled with love and holy vibes.
ОтветитьThose tiny little things to look forward to seem amazing! Right now I don’t have any energy or desire to do anything- nothing. But that afternoon cup of cappuccino actually made my heart feel lighter! Simple small steps…
ОтветитьCaring about others, talking to them is pure selflessness, and solves all loneliness.
ОтветитьThank you a bunch Mel. You’re truly an inspiration. 💪💪
ОтветитьI have been sad and depressed since childhood, and I have severely gotten worse since kids and living with a narcissistic man, i am 46, and the only thing I want so desperately is the ability to feel. Nothing excites me.❤🎉
ОтветитьAnyone suffering from this as I know I am i urge you all to look into Dr Joe Dispenza’s work.
👍👍

ОтветитьAs a senior adult that lives alone and works 2 jobs to make ends meet, I feel this so much! Thank you for sharing this. I have been in the state most of this winter of moments coming out because of my kids visits or other specific things that snapped me out. I find myself throwing everything into work in order not to feel this vast emptiness.
