I have to say 2023 was a better year for fragrances than 2024. I mean Boss Bottled Absolu was great, but I don't think any of the other ones are must buys. Meanwhile, 2023 had some absolute bangers, especially with all those amazing Elixirs

I actually got the Y L’Elixir for 59 euros the other day in fla co ni Germany. At that price, I could not resist buying it right away, so there is hope for people who liked it and find it to expensive at retail. (Maybe it’s so cheap now because it will get discontinued, who knows…) 😂😅

So- gonna change it up a little here today. Typically I present stats on the fragrances mentioned in the vids by Fragrantica rating (highest to lowest). I got interested in the fragrance community and started following Ash @ GentScents and Omar over at School of Scent almost exactly a year ago. Each time they mention a fragrance I'll update my data set with the name of the video and increment a "referenced in" counter. A few other influencers' videos will make their way into the data set from time time (like Sebastian @ ThePerfumeGuy or Deb Rawlings or the 2 Curly gurls [iykyk]) but primarily Ash and Omar.

Today I am going to present my typical info but sort it by most frequently REFERENCED- an indicator of the buzz around a fragrance: Hope this is interesting to you guys. So Scandal Absolu was mentioned 24 times versus Le Male Lover only 1 time in the past year in the vids I watch.

Ash. I've watched your videos since since you started. I want to offer some constructive criticism. Your videos are becoming unwatchable. They are too long, too repetitive and take too long to get to the interesting parts. This is a big reason your subscribership has stagnated. Who the heck wants to wait to watch twenty cologne reviews? Twenty five minutes? You need to revamp your formula and presentation. I want you to succeed so please take this advice to heart.

Ever since the D&G K line, I've really started disliking "Chili Spice" in fragrances. Regardless of whether it's Spicebomb Infrared EDP, Luna Rossa Ocean Le Parfum, or The Scent Magnetic, I'm just done with that type of smell.
