Performing on the Schenectady Today Stage. Led by Derrick Horton (lead vocals), the Jay Street Band features Phil Auclaire (drums), Chris Duffy (bass), and Sabrina Mason (keyboard).

"My dream is to have my own Motown," says Horton, a University at Albany sociology professor who goes by his first name (Hayward) in the lecture hall and his middle (Derrick) when making music. "There's so much talent in this area — so much talent. And yet it's not really being tapped into. And so I said, 'Why, I want to create my own multimedia version of Motown. And I'll start with the Motown house band.' And so that's what I've done. That Motown-style ensemble, Derrick Horton and the Jay Street Band. The band will be appearing at Schenectady Summer Night on Friday, July 15 in downtown Schenectady.
