This is by far the best video of the SHMC i´ve come across so far. As i´m doing my own electronic designs, my last one was inspired (at least a little) by this machine (if somone wanna have a look paste this in the search above: wv-WQlzpiZg ) I was lucky to got my fingers on this great an awesome comp during "musikmesse" frankfurt this year....wonderful but really out of reach for me. So some DIY has to be done..;) THANX a lot for this brilliant video!

Ok, 8k for hypeness, come on, it is ONLY compression, for this kind of money you can fix yourself a nice rack with good quality gear and be done with it. No thank you! 

Love this compressor; but like most, can't afford it. Thankfully the UAD Shadow Hills compressor is about 85 percent there so we can at least get in the same ballpark of what this compressor can do to a mix or drum bus

I know this is an amazing piece of gear but for $7k this should def come with the power supply...wow..maybe it runs on true blood! haha this guy looks like a vampire. Smart dude though!

With the arrival of "Modern-Vintage" (what does that mean anyway?) we see the arrival of the hi-fi snake oil retailers in home recording kit.
The same sellers who persuaded hi-fi aficionados to spend thousands on mains leads have turned their attention to the home recording fans. This is a wonderful compressor, but the price is exorbitant, and I have yet to find an experienced engineer who can tell the difference between blind switching between an iron and nickel cored output transformer.

Why does almost every demo video use drum loops instead of whole mixes??? Duh, it's a MASTERING COMPRESSOR!!!!!

Elegant product demonstration.
Vintage King missed an opportunity to shoot this in b/w or sepia.

"70 lbs and real." but Sweetwater says its 33.5 and the power supply is 21.5 pounds so that's 55 pounds. I guess Peter Reardon just thought 70 was a magic number
