6 Hours on United Polaris Business Class - New York to London

I honestly have never not had impressive food on US or Canadian airlines to be honest. Business class food is worse tasting than econ food in Japanese/middle eastern airlines.

Will be trying Polaris for the first time in a few weeks BCN-EWR(787-10) then UA first to ATL Everything looks okay, just not great catering. Well, UA wanted 93.6K award miles, AA 125K and DL 325K! I guess I can suck it up at that cost and fill up first at the lounge.

One of UA's biggest weaknesses would be their catering. Unfortunately, the food on United is usually just average, at best. Personally, I have found that jetBlue's Economy class catering between the east coast and London, is better than United's Polaris catering.

What kind of microphone do you use onboard when you're filming the clips with audio?

Polaris lounge (I tried it in SFO) is probably one of the best lounges around the world. The interior is just so sleek, the restaurant-style food and the ambiance is just perfect

When did UA start implementing white cloths for Polaris? I have not seen that since the introduction of Polaris in 2017

United's highlight is definitely the Polaris lounges and seats. Lacks on catering.

I tried the Polaris lounge at SFO. I'm not a frequent lounge user. IMO, this was one of the nicest lounges I have ever used. I arrived early enough to enjoy the nap room, the buffet, and the a la carte restaurant. Unfortunately, Polaris hadn't fully updated on the planes. I flew on a 777 with the 2-4-2 configuration which also had rear-facing seats. Not a very good product. Upon arrival at LHR, was able to use the arrival lounge which afforded me a nice hot shower before heading to London.

UA's hard product might be okay on their Polaris routes, though oh boy the soft product is akin to pet food. I flew this same plane on LHR-ORD recently and I just left the tray sitting every time to be picked up, enough for the purser understood what's going on.

I just took this same trip from Chicago O'Hare. It's overall a good product. The lounge is great. The seats have great privacy but that comes at the expense of it being a bit cramped with not much space to put your things.

I remembered few years ago I took UA from EWR to SFO to TPE and the food service was horrible. I remembered that I literally couldn’t eat the food service from SFO to TPE. I landed in TPE starving n looking for food in 7-Eleven 😅

Generally, United's Polaris hard product is good. Their catering and at times, cabin crew, are their weaknesses unfortunately. But that is the case for all US carriers it seems. I wish we had a stellar airline here like Qatar or Emirates. Man, that would be amazing. I'd pay a premium for it as well.

2 days ago I flew from Phuket to narita via ANA. Then….Narita to EWR via United Polaris. Hard product on United is “good”. The soft product, ie food, presentation, flight attendants was HORRIBLE. 1/10. The catering was terrible, they ran out of food choices (mind you I was sitting in row 4. They didn’t “plate” anything. Just one tray with everything on it. Food was terrible. Breakfast choices (other fish (Japanese option, or egg omelet (western option) were terrible. Fish or egg? That’s it? In flight snacks, terrible- some chips, prewrapped sandwiches, and garbage. , Does anyone remember when United used to have a drink cart, ice cream sundae cart, multiple meal choices with plating, a cheese a wine tray, grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup as in flight snacks…..I could go on and on. What the hell happened to all of these goodies? I paid over 5k for my ticket. I hate to say it, but that was for the seat. The food probably cost them $10. Pandemic is no excuse for this continued lack of service, lack of food options. If anyone from United is reading this….I encourage you to get a department that flies Asian and middle eastern airlines. Compare your lackluster service to theirs. Then maybe you can figure out what you are doing wrong.

These videos are good. Problems with people in general who fly business & 1st all the time is the lifestyle increase. Now, instead of being thankful for flying 650mph across an ocean safely, its the chicken way too dry 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

It’s awful! But they do have a braised short rib that’s really good but I had the French toast it’s awful! But the service is always great

United Polaris is great. The seats are nice. The problem is the food just subpar, sadly i love united.

Usual cafeteria style food on UA. It's an area that really need to improve. Clearly an area where they try to cut costs. Everyone complains about it but do nothing about it. I prefer the morning flights to London, really helps with jet lag so you can sleep once checked in. But I go AA/BA out of the NYC area.

Try another Polaris fight? Save your money. United food and most of the time, their flight crew suck! The only thing they excel at is their movie/entertainment selection which is unparalleled anywhere else. Their seats are awfully narrow and the footwell is way too small. These comments come from a 1K customer myself. I just returned from India to SFO via Dubai on Emirates. OMG! Pure heaven! Their a380 business class is utterly amazing! And my ticket was cheaper than United. Go figure….

UAL is garbage. One of his eyes is smaller than the other and was distracting. And dude! tight & white is not your look. Too many rolls. Maybe eat less airline food. I expect my vloggers to be better put together.

I would not fly a US carrier to Europe...they just don't have what it takes to compete with their International Carrier's counter part so why waste your money!

Polaris for Transatlantic/Pacific is good if you can get it as a miles upgrade or sub-$1k cash upgrade. If you're shelling out the full amount, there are usually Star Alliance partners with superior Business offerings at around the same amount or slightly higher, at least for Transpacific (EVA, Asiana; ANA almost never has The Room for Transpacific and their old Business has a much worse seat than Polaris, but better catering and service)

I’m sure that you ordered a meal on the plane in order to review it. I tend to avoid the meals on the plane, and eat in the lounge before I board. Happy travels.
