Day 1 of Van Life, as a solo traveler around Portugal

Today, the sun rose with a special glow, marking the beginning of an unforgettable journey on wheels. My mobile home glided along the roads of Portugal, embracing the freedom and promise of new adventures. The destination? Vila de Rei, a hidden gem nestled between majestic mountains and serene rivers.

As we approached, the landscape transformed into a cinematic scene. Verdant mountains stretched to the horizon while crystal-clear rivers meandered through the valley, reflecting the blue sky. It was like stepping into a painting, where every bend in the road revealed a new surprise from nature.

We arrived at the river beach of Vila de Rei and were greeted by a scene worthy of a film. The clear water invited us for a refreshing dip, while the lush green banks provided the perfect spot to relax and soak in the surrounding serenity. Sitting by the water’s edge, with our feet gently touching the smooth current, we felt the peace that only nature can offer.

The first day of vanlife in Portugal couldn't have been more perfect. Between swims and short walks along the surroundings, we discovered the charm of Vila de Rei and the beauty of its landscapes. Then the dawn came, and I parked the van in a quiet spot and let myself be lulled by the gentle sounds of nature.
